ON this date in 1939 - U.S. President Roosevelt was presented with a letter from Albert Einstein who urged Roosevelt to develop the U.S. atomic program rapidly.
Fellow physicists Bun Man and Mr. Purple counseled Albert "Be careful what you ask for..."

ON this date in 1975 - "Saturday Night Live" was broadcast for the first time with George Carlin as the guest host. Janis Ian performed "At Seventeen" and "In the Winter." Billy Preston played "Nothing from Nothing" and "Fancy Lady." The Boyz, Carlin's managers, had wanted the band to be Blue Oyster Cult which was Carlin's fave band, but network execs thought the band a little too racy for TV. No problem, the after party had BOC rockin' w/ the Boyz singing the refrain 'Don't Fear the Reaper...'
REMEMBERING DIXIEE
Every morning, the routine is the same...
Dixiee and I awake, I go down and get the coffee started, and then I let her out to do her 'stuff', and then she comes in and eats...
After eating, she comes to the stairs as I am going down to the office, she looks at me before going up the stairs to the bedroom where the Mikster still slumbers...
1/2
ON this date in 1869 - Thomas Edison filed for a patent on his first invention.
The electric machine was used for counting votes for the U.S. Congress.
US Senators Bun Man and Mr. Purple actually supported the idea and thought it helpful for elections, however the Congress did not buy it.
Apparently, the machine was tamper-proof...
Bun Man would later wistfully state, "Damn inventors, always fail to understand how democracy works in America..."
BUNDLES OF JOY
Ken-Dogger: Hey guys, you...oops, didn't realize you're still sleepin'

BUILDING KON-TIKI
#pups4peace
Ken-Dogger: Cato, again with the questions…
Cato: How do I become a Kiwi?
KD: A piece of fruit, you wanna become a piece of fruit?
C: No Bro…A New Zealander, you know someone who ‘gets’ managed isolation.
KD: Oh, you mean a country who has a plan, who has used their resources to stop the spread, not to politicize it.
C: Yep, a Kiwi…
KD: They’ve beat it twice now, we haven’t even tried once…Can I be a Kiwi too?
C: I’ve started building Kon-Tiki II…
Morning Indigenous Peoples Day Celebrators,
Ken-Dogger: Morning Trixie
Trixie: Peeps are off today, what’s up?
KD: President Biden declared it Indigenous Peoples Day.
KD: Celebrations remind us of our cultural heritages.
T: We need to celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ contributions to US culture.
KD: They have one of the highest group rates of Military Service, they honor security.
T: And They value a reverence for life.
KD: Perhaps, we should have more of these days.
Morning Peeps,
Today, and just today, COSO is running a special...
Hey you, don't watch that
Watch this
This is the heavy, heavy monster sound
The nuttiest sound around
So if you've come in off the street
And you're beginning to feel the heat
Well, listen buster
You better start to move your feet
To the rockinest, rock-steady beat
Of Madness
One step beyond
SO...
GO AHEAD AND TAKE IT
ONE STEP BEYOND

TUX V2
ON this date in 1886 - The tuxedo dinner jacket made its U.S. debut in New York City.
Bun Man and Mr. Purple showed up at the Knickerbocker Club resplendent in their fine threads and the ladies, well let's just say, the ladies didn't admire from afar!
There is something to be said about a well-dressed man.
Bun would later say "I dress for men; I undress for women."
Angie Dickinson would steal this line some years later for Dressed to Kill.
ON this date in 1965 - Charles Schultz, inspired by the tales of WWI Aces Bun Man and Mr. Purple, sought to capture those heroics and magic by modeling a new character of them.
Thus, the Red Baron made his first appearance in the "Peanuts" comic strip.
For years the Boyz would fight over who really was the inspiration.
Continuing with the COSO series on Husband Training...THIS FROM 2012
HUSBAND 101...Marry a woman who not only is your best friend but also someone who understands forgiveness--like when you bring home a 1981 Vespa Piaggio P200e which you won on eBay and she says, "It's cool, enjoy it."
Those other words the Mikster said were unprintable and certainly not appropriate for the COSOverse...
