DIPLOMATIC GRAB-N-GO

Mexico-Ecuador Rift

Mexico severed diplomatic ties with Ecuador over the weekend, a decision that came after Ecuadorian authorities forcibly entered the Mexican embassy Friday to arrest former Ecuadorian Vice President Jorge Glas on corruption charges.

S: Morning Brew

There are Days when I truly, truly miss riding this cycle...

Then I remember Today's Drivers...

ON this date in 1964 - The Supremes recorded "Where Did Our Love Go."

The song was their first No. 1 single.

Bun Man and Mr. Purple actually co-wrote the song w/ Ms. Ross and came up w/ the line "I've got this burning, burning yearnin' deep inside me, and it hurts so bad..."

Bun was rumored to be involved w/ Ms. Ross at the time so she wrote, "You came into my heart so tenderly..."

Not really sure that's where it was but give the Lady some editorial privilege.

ON this date in 1913 - The Seventeenth amendment was ratified, requiring direct election of senators.

Senators Bun Man and Mr. Purple from the Great State of Delaware voted for the amendment.

Bun later told Mr. P "Don't really worry about this, they may directly vote us in, but money will provide the impetus for victory margin."

Bun didn't really know how prophetic he was...

Unsure who you had on your Climate Bracket for GLOBAL MADNESS this year, looks like NO Number 1s made it, just left with a lot of Number 2s in the Final Four.

STANDING TALL, FOR SELF AND OTHERS

Ken-Dogger: Hey there Cato, what are you doing?
Cato: Standing tall Dude…
KD: Yes, but why?
C: I see you standing at the crossroads Bro, not knowing which path to follow.
KD: I know which path, it’s the one which methodically gets us through.
C: So now you know why I’m standing, I’ll stand by you.
KD: And I’ll stand by you, won’t let nobody hurt you.
C: That’s the spirit, even in our darkest hour, Standing Tall…

Morning Peeps,

DO THE MOST WITH THE HOMERS YOU HIT...

Historybook: HBD actress Robin Wright (1966); RIP Pablo Picasso (1973); Hank Aaron breaks Babe Ruth’s home run record (1974); Frank Robinson becomes first Black manager of a major league baseball team (1975); RIP Margaret Thatcher (2013).

"The way I see it, it's a great thing to be the man who hit the most home runs, but it's a greater thing to be the man who did the most with the home runs he hit."

- Hank Aaron

Ken-Dogger: Morning Kit, it was bound to happen.
Kit: I knew it when that sewing machine came out, what are you getting?
KD: Mikster is making me CV protection.
K: Am I to assume that’s what this is?
KD: Not exactly, she’s following a pattern for my stuff
K: I like it when peeps follow patterns, it gives predictability.
KD: True Kit, and it reminds us of order in our world.
K: We need order, now most particularly
KD: Another reason to bring back Home Ec, bringing order to chaos.

PEACEFULLY COEXISTING...IF WE LET IT.

Morning FOK (Friends of Ken)

Ken-Dogger: Hey Yeller, what’s up?
Yeller: Dude, new season…
Basketball is done.
KD: No, we still got the Pros, oh, I see your point.
Y: Time to move on to Summer Fun…
KD: No gloves?
Y: We’re goin’ Old School Bro…
KD: Baseball is Life Yeller, the Game teaches so much.
Y: Does it teach Peaceful Coexistence because we need that?
KD: It will if we let it, but you gotta let it.

HB2U Billie, Lady Day...

Morning Peeps,

working again this AM...

Catch you later on today.

WE SHOULD STILL BE CALLING OUT THE MADNESS...

Bill Press...

As for America, we must begin challenging what is happening to our discourse, fairness, and the respect we should show to our fellow Americans.

Calling out the madness is the first step.

The ease with which people reach for such racist diatribe is galling. The attacks are swift. But repairing the damage will take far longer.

Just to be clear, that's 17 years of testing on a weapon we were never going to employ.

TEST CASES

ON this date in 1983 - The U.S. Veteran's Administration announced it would give free medical care for conditions traceable to radiation exposure to more than 220,000 veterans who participated in nuclear tests from 1945 to 1962.

Mr. Purple told Bun he was going to seek help as he participated in 1950, but Bun Man cautioned him as Bun was concerned about needing more lighting for the house as Purple just glowed so nicely at night.

THERE'S A DARK SIDE IN ALL THINGS

ON this date in 1968 - Pink Floyd announced founder Syd Barrett has officially left the group due to his suffering from psychiatric disorders compounded by drug use.

Bun Man and Mr. Purple, Pink Floyd Roadies, denied any involvement and/or solicitation to support Syd's habit.

Apparently, there really is a dark side of the moon.

You know it, I know it, the Boyz GOT THE T-SHIRT!!!!

Somehow got Watt's attention thru his window (Interior Sec. has 3rd window in from the left when facing north), and Bun mooned him.

That's right, the wrong element mooned Watt.

The next day, the ban was lifted.

The Boyz--Changing America one moon at a time...

2/2

ON this date in 1983 - U.S. Interior Secretary James Watt banned the Beach Boys from the 4th of July celebration on the Washington Mall.

He said rock 'n' roll bands attract the "wrong element."

Members of the wrong element, Bun Man and Mr. Purple, drove by the White House,...
