ON this date in 1568 - Bun Man's main squeeze at the time, Mary, Queen of Scots, went on trial in England.
She was accused of conspiring against Queen Elizabeth I.
Mary was beheaded the following February.
Mr. Purple had warned him about his affectations w/ Mary.
This would start centuries where women would have serious issues working for other women.
PEACE CORPS V2
ON this date in 1960 - U.S. presidential candidate John F. Kennedy first suggested the idea of a Peace Corps.
When Bun Man first heard this, he was ready to volunteer immediately.
Seems Bun remembered all those National Geographic mags w/ those naked pics of African women and he thought there might be some additional bennies to this foray.

Somewhat DARK
ON this date in 1960 - U.S. presidential candidate John F. Kennedy first suggested the idea of a Peace Corps.
I looked around and there was Bun Man snickering in the corner.
Thinking I shouldn't, but what the hell, I did, I asked him why the snicker as Mr. Purple and I were dying to know.
Bun, catching his breath through the snickering, said "If this were today, the Donald would be suggesting a Piece Corps..."
Mr. P said, "Yea, staffed by his former abused women..."
ON this date in 1967 - Pat Boone, the owner of the Oakland Oaks, sang the national anthem at the first game of the new American Basketball Association.
That afternoon, he asked world-renown tenors Bun Man and Mr. Purple to join him for this momentous occasion.
The Boyz began by singing "On a day like today, we pass the time away..." rather than "O say can..."
Pat busted up, but only a few in the crowd got the reference.
SOMETIMES, THEY'RE MAN-EATERS, WATCH OUT BOY, WATCH OUT BOY...
Chuckles: Oh here I come, watch out boy I'll chew you up, oh here I come, I'm a man-eater
Ken-Dogger: I wouldn't if I were you (but it does look like you did already), I know what she can do, she's deadly man, and she could really rip your world apart, mind over matter, the beauty is there but a beast is in the heart
Chuckles: The Mikster's not gonna be happy
KD: Not so much...
(Hall & Oates - Maneater)
HEED THE FLOWERS LIFE GIVES YA
Ken-Dogger: A flower Cleo?
Cleo: Yea Boy…I’m bringing you one.
KD: And why is that?
C: Well, I noticed early on, you tended to me, we took long walks, we cuddled…now, not so much.
KD: Well, relationships grow and they change dynamics
C: I want to sing songs again, play again, all the stuff we did when flowers were fresh.
KD: I miss that too…
C: Hence the Flower Bro, heed the Flowers life gives ya…
Morning Peeps,
ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS HOMERS EVER
ON this date in 1960 (I was 10 at the time) - The World Series ended on a home run for the first time.
Bill Mazurowski's homerun allowed the Pirates to beat the Yankees.
I actually watched this on TV while at my cub scout meeting w/ Bun Man and Mr. Purple at Mrs. Crosby's house in Nanticoke Annex.
At the time, I was a Yank fan but never during the Steinbrenner era.
