While Bun celebrated his debut w/ fellow roadie, Mr. Purple, Eddie Van Halen began to think...

Perhaps I don't need to put up w/ David Lee's wildness after all.

The band eventually moved on w/ Sammy Hagar...

ON this date in 1979 - David Lee Roth collapsed from exhaustion during a Van Halen show in Spokane, WA.

Eddie Van Halen, band leader that he was, immediately sprang into action.

He had heard one of the roadies, Bun Man, singing their songs and Eddie thought, this dude could fill in.

So, Bun was pulled onstage, and he finished the show.

Feeling a little pressure, I stuck to my guns and said "Hell yeah..."

The Boyz refused to respond further, Mr. Purple, Today's mouthpiece, finally said "Bun and I talked, a Michael Bolton release is about as exciting as watching paint dry...

Today, we chose the watching..."

Have to admit, the Boyz have a point...

2/2

ON this date in 1991 - Michael Bolton released "Time, Love and Tenderness."

Bun Man and Mr. Purple just looked at me as I got ready to post this.

The Boyz said "Really, you're going w/ this one today?"

Watching Blue Hawaii on Retro....

Had forgotten how good this movie was...with song lines like ..."I'm a kiss in cousin to a ripe pineapple in a can..."

How the hell can you top that....

And Angela Lansbury says, " oh daddy what did we do wrong?"

And her husband responds "offhand I'd say we got married."

Morning Peeps, My annual plea

WE NEED MORE CHILDREN BORN WITH HEARTS OF GOLD AND A LESS COLD WORLD

You will find peace of mind
If you look way down in your heart and soul
Dont hesitate cause the world seems cold
Stay young at heart cause you're never, never old at heart

That's the way of the world
Plant your flower and you grow a pearl
A child is born with a heart of gold
The way of the world makes his heart grow cold

GOLF UPDATE...

Almost did it today Peeps, almost broke 80 on the golf course.

I shot an 80 today.

During high season here, we normally play the back 9 on the Championship course and then the Links course to give us 18.

I'm getting there...

Goal is to break 80 before I turn 74 in August.

The American Prospect...

Not since FDR have industrial workers and unions had a better friend than Joe Biden. Amid all the noise about polls and perceptions, that reality needs to shine through.

“It is disgusting to see how, day after day, the far-right fanatics in Congress identify more with the sanguinary dictator Putin than with his present and future victims.”-PM

ON this date in 1775 - American revolutionaries Paul Revere, William Dawes and Samuel Prescott rode though the towns of Massachusetts giving the warning that "the Regulars are coming out."

Later, the phrase "the British are coming" was attributed to Revere.

Historians Bun Man and Mr. Purple recommended the change to 'the British' as they thought 'regulars coming out', well, just sounded a little too 'gay', if ya know what I mean.

And Coming Out Parties weren't really a thing until 1776.

ON this date in 1938 - Superman, the world's first superhero, appeared in the first issue of Action Comics.

The cover date was June 1938.

Actually, Action Comics had it all wrong, Bun Man and Mr. Purple were the world's first superheroes, and they predate Superman by hundreds of years.

Just ask their legion of fans...

GOOD TO REMEMBER...

You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you just might find, you just might find, you get what you need...

ON this date in 2003 - Etta James received a star (#2,223) on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Managed throughout her career by Bun Man & Mr. Purple Productions, Etta was a contralto whose range helped bridge the gap from gospel to soul to R&B to Blues.

One only needs to listen to 'At Last' to know how soulful this lady was; she could 'rock' a tune.

While rumors persisted of her ongoing assignations w/ Bun Man, Bun Man never told me or Mr. P about anything.

Bun Man's a gentleman...
