And how am I spending this fine Saturday??

Creating freakishly complex process flow maps.

Enjoy your 4/20. I hate you all! ❤️

A year ago, my 12yo daughter walked away from gymnastics after 8 years, too many injuries, her body told her it was time. Today, she competed in her first diving meet. 6 dives, and she put up scores good enough for first place in her level. "Proud" is the understatement of the century. Side note - she still smiles at the judges when she walks on to the diving board - a reflex leftover from gymnastics.

"We understand that juror #7 goes on a 5 mile jog every morning at precisely 645, along riverside drive, stops to do jumping jacks somewhere near riverside and 151st at the pedestrian bridge...."

I would not be surprised to hear this on CNN:

"It's important to maintain a level of anonymity for these jurors in particularly....so....do we know the home addresses of these jurors and their close family members and can we put those up on the screen for our viewers?"

🎧 Pearl Jam, "Dark Matter". It's a Pearl Jam album. It rocks, the drums are criminally over processed, Stone's riffs are still driving the bus, and Eddie gets his introspective moments. Their last....five? albums are interchangeable. But the fact that they are still standing after 30+ years with 4/5 of the original band, and with their integrity mostly intact is good enough for me. They are a familiar and welcome friend.

I feel dumber for hearing this. “The reason independents aren’t looking at :Asshat: right now is because the message he is delivering from in front of the court house where he is on trial for covering up election interference by paying a porn star he mounted to shut up about it isn’t interesting enough”.

What the fuck with CNN. Someone get Gary Hart on the blower.

🎧 Dickey Betts & Great Southern, "Live at Birdy's Aug 12 2003". This was the first show in Indianapolis. 7 guys guys and all that gear on a stage meant for a band half that size. One of the drum kits was pretty much teetering off the edge of the stage. After they walked on, Dan Toler says “stage is a little small” and Dickey says “well Dan you know we’re just gonna have to stand here and give it hell”. My brother got a tape of the show and sent it to me. 😔 Thanks, Dickey.

Well, this one hits me in the feels...

Rest in Peace, Richard. Thanks for the music.

🎧 Orchard Keepers, "The Moon Stares Back". Ayannah Miller has been fronting some version of Orchard Keepers since 2013. They started out as a folk-noir trio. One night in 2014 they walked on stage as a full throated punk band, with Miller slashing away at her guitar and sounding like a young Patti Smith. Over a decade later OK is still releasing albums on the regular. This new one is a raucous, sexy, grimy ride. (I know these people personally).

The state of GOP "messaging" in Indiana.
-Candidate for IN-5 (Victoria Spartz' seat) running two ads. One calls out her "bad boss" reputation and the other promises to keep Indiana safe from immigrants and Transgender sports by "working with President Trump"
-American Advancement running an ad calling GOP Senator Mike Braun a "rino squish" but doesn't endorse or even mention any other candidate.
-GOP Candidate for governor promising to keep CRT out of Indiana public schools.

I'm not even sure what I am doing up. Our sump pump failed earlier today. The sump pit is about half full. We are getting sporadic rain storms right now. I'm just kind of sitting here in the basement waiting for a flood to happen? I dont even know how that would happen but I've heard of it happening. Sometimes owning a house just isn't fun.

Anybody remember the great "Threatin" hoax from 2018? This guy faked everything, his label, his following, his management, his agent, and he eventually duped his band into a manufactured sold out British tour. After 6 years, he finally breaks his silence. I was fascinated by this story.

I'm not afraid of wasps, I just don't want them around. They are the assholes of the insect world.

This week on the Friday Flashback, we're celebrating 40 years of GRACE UNDER PRESSURE, the 10th studio album from Canadian power trio, Rush! Come for a "Distant Early Warning," and stay for a song about an android (not the phone) on the run.

🎧 English Teacher, “This Could Be Texas”. Two words: Holy. Fucking. Shit. Already in the running for my album of the year. The title track alone, with its walk thru the heather verses and arpeggio-laden mid section makes the whole album “good.” But the rest of the songs make it great. Lily Fontaine is one of the UKs best lyricists and her lithe voice sets her apart from most her “post-punk” contemporaries. Trust me. Your ears will thank you.

@WuzzaDiva
Lookie what the mail brought today!
That’s pretty dang cool.
For those not in the know, Equal Creatures is a great band from ATL, their new album is awesome, and their bass player is a “kid of coso”.

It's a and I have no meetings on the calendar! I've got the morning playlist loaded with new releases from:
-Blue Oyster Cult
-Bodega
-English Teacher
-Orchard Keepers
What are the 'nauts going to be rockng today?
