@joycereynoldsward, how are you doing? I haven't been as focused as I meant to be, and I haven't expressed how sorry I am for the medical challenges you've been moving through as of late.

How's your heart?
How's your mood?

Are you find yourself able to set good routines, from one day to the next, to ground yourself amid so much uncertainty and stress?

I do so hope you're doing okay - and taking care of yourself as best you can.

The above note goes for all of you, too.

How's your heart? How's your mood? What are you doing to take care of yourselves one day at a time?

I'm just finishing up a newsletter right now, and finding it difficult not to dive down rabbit holes of terrible footage of atrocity.

(Which is a little unfair to the rabbits, I know; most of them don't have holes anywhere near as depraved as online forums.)

Be as gentle with yourselves as circumstances allow.

And ask after your neighbours if you can.

@MLClark @joycereynoldsward

Very kind words! Let us never forget the power of such words… 😊🙏🏻

@MLClark oh, no worries! You've been facing your own challenges. And thank you.

I'm working my way through things. At the moment life is positive and I'm embracing that. I had a nice Sunday afternoon visit outside with a good friend, am writing again and...well, we're getting through things. Which is the best I can do right now.

The colonoscopy prep used a substance that I know has side effects in me, and it's also a problem with vax preservatives. So still clearing that stuff out.

@joycereynoldsward

I'm glad you're able to take time for rest and recovery - and that you know your body well enough that you can monitor all the "fun" new health quirks as they arise.

May the good on your end continue for as long as possible. 🤗

@MLClark thank you. And the new horsey boi is always willing to pull antics to make me laugh! Even if grumpy old retired mare gets annoyed...but then she pulls her own antics. Fortunate to be in that rare location where reasonably priced horse ownership is still possible. It's not in most other places...and I'm enough of a throwback that I need equine contact to keep me sane.

@joycereynoldsward

Oh, horses are good.

They'll listen to you talk of human trespass, human ego, human folly, and they'll understand not a word of us, but invite you into a different way of existing in this one and precious life all the same. :) I'm thankful for your joy in the little things, Joyce. Thanks for sharing it.

@MLClark heh. Both the horses are smart and know more English than they're willing to let on. Especially if they think ignoring words might get them kookies.

@MLClark ❤️ You are aware of what is going on and that in my opinion is enough. Some believe that you have to be exposed to every bit of something however you do not. You can not ignore and still have boundaries of not allowing every piece of something in.

@WhiteRose

🤗 Yes and no - there are some journalistic reasons for monitoring both what's said and what's actually corroborated at this juncture. Specifically, paying attention to how rumours are spreading, to whom, and with what changes in the story as they travel. So, I have a little more of an obligation to deep-dive than others.

But... with reprieves, of course. Those are 100% necessary to survive. 🤗 Take good care of your heart in this trauma, too.

@MLClark yeah, I understand that and was thinking that afterwards . However that is based on what you do. As journalist yeah you wish to keep up on things however imo your mental health comes always first. sometimes temptations are not good.

@WhiteRose

In this case, there was an editorial call just an hour ago to look into a truly horrific report, so I've been checking the sourcing and origin of claims. (There's still a huge gulf between the stated claim and the corroborating evidence: it's highly suggestive but not confirmed yet.) I *think* another writer will ultimately take this one, but I suspect I'll be writing about an adjacent topic soon.

In any case, back to the newsletter first! ❤️ Thanks for sitting with me in this.

@MLClark You do an amazing job And I would always sit with you. ❤️

@MLClark

when you find yourself in hell, just keep moving forward until it's no longer the case.

i think Churchill said something like that.

@MLClark Maybe take a time-out from all the atrocities? 😊
