@th3j35t3r How hard is it to put a translator on coso? Sometimes posts come in other languages and I get FOMO. 😁
@LowEndMuse @th3j35t3r I was just wondering the same thing! Saw a few Spanish posts recently.
I see French and Spanish the most. I know enough Spanish to identify most words but not enough to string them together in a coherent way. 😜
@LowEndMuse @th3j35t3r Naturally, I see a French post after seeing yours 😂
We have one - currently disabled, reasons. But it was called X-Talk - (crosstalk) it would auto translate foreign language posts into your language and vice versa. Seamless. Might revive that one.
^^^ Anyone else remember when we tried this?
@th3j35t3r Yep I do! I like it!
@LowEndMuse
@th3j35t3r I don't but I suspect it went badly?
@LowEndMuse It went... incredibly expensively - at the time. Things have moved on though, might take another run at it.
@th3j35t3r Don't do it if it's gonna hurt the bottom line. I've learned other ways now.
Totally your call. 💯
@LowEndMuse 🙏 👍
@th3j35t3r @LowEndMuse
I wouldn't use it enough to justify any expense on your end. It's not many texts and I just throw them in Google Translate.
But I can imagine if a non-English speaker came on and could automatically read everyone's posts, it would radically change their experience.
@th3j35t3r @LowEndMuse Sounds 💯🤌
@th3j35t3r @LowEndMuse i do
@JanetZumba_FalPals @LowEndMuse
We still have translation, just not the real-time conversion as posts come into feeds.
@th3j35t3r
I remember that feature, enjoyed that option.
//@LowEndMuse
@pendrag @th3j35t3r I recall that one, too!
It was amazing--and really fun to see everyone engaging with it!
over the years you have given us some truly cutting-edge features!
yes
it worked well.
But:
Cheap, Fast. Good. Pick Two.
Unless it went way down in price, not worth it.
@corlin hubby used that every day at his sew & vac repair shop. People got it when given that menu of choices. #PickTwo
