Because there's a lot more going on then just quick notes and fixing typos. I'm 30 pages into a client's book and have over 5000 words of notes in the margins, plus a page long editing letter.

If the law allows hate crimes, it's wrong. You as an individual can make a better choice.

I will probably enjoy it while I'm there (I like meeting new people). It's just not something I'm excited about now.

My social skills feel nonexistent today and tomorrow I need to be 100% cheerful and peppy because we're going to an international meet-n-greet shindig where I need to appear wholesome, well-educated, and correctly represent the firm.

I really wish writing paid me enough to avoid things like this.

When we look at historic works through a modern lens all the jewels don't make sense. To us, that's decoration and there to be pretty. For the people growing up, those gems were the family's wealth on display. A woman's dowry full of gems was her emergency fund.

#BlossomsInAdversity is doing an excellent job reminding viewers that the ladies back in the day didn't wear jewels for the glam of it all, they wore jewels because that was their currency. Their gold hairpins were money they kept with them.

The police in the USA have such a habit of lying that the news reporters who rely on the police for protection don't even trust them any more.

I'm really missing Twitter and the threads on Hong Kong and Arab Spring protests right now. I am pro-protest and pro-protesting smart.

- wear a mask
- bring an umbrella
- sunscreen
- lawyer's # in permanent marker somewhere
- clean phone w/ no apps
- have a plan for the police

You cannot de-escalate a protest by violently attacking anyone, least of all the press reporters or anyone disabled.

Watching the news from Columbia University and things are grim.

No, arresting protestors was not necessary and does not assure anyone that Constitutional freedoms were observed. Especially when the disabled professor's cane was violently taken away from them.

Trying desperately to update my American banking address but it won't let me because the name of the street is misspelled. It's not misspelled. There is nothing wrong with the street name except the fact the bank doesn't like Korean words.

Chasing the plot bunnies provides dopamine which means I'm more likely to cycle back to the book with a deadline, so let's go chase plot bunnies.
