@ACG2 Good choice. We are in the maritime Pacific Northwest. No snow here (we did have a serious deep freeze for about a week) so I do some gardening most of the year round. Where I live makes me lucky in that regards.

Turned and mixed the compost piles this afternoon (we have thawed out sufficiently for this to be an option). Something rather satisfying about seeing steam rising into the winter afternoon air from the center of the pile you are aerating and mixing up a bit. My garden is part food production; part nature appreciation; and part science appreciation - mixed in with a dose of decent exercise for the body. Kitchen gardens are good for the mind, soul, and body.

@osqny I couldn't say, because I closed my Twitter account in late October of last year when Musk stepped in officially. Won't give him the financial benefit of my account being in existence AND I care for myself too much to subject myself to the wild wild west free for all that it rapidly devolved into.

@Maude my 2023 onion patch went in earlier this week. I have some reworking to do on a few of the older beds in the garden and hope to get on that in a few days when the weather eases up a bit. My garden is one of my passions.

@Heyjojo it literally is everything, everyone posts (not replies but the initial posts). You can filter out items to exclude things you don't want to see, but as is it is a literal firehose of posts. No algorithms deciding who or what you will see here. The "my friends" column will show you posts and responses by people you friend here.

I think I will plant out my onion seedlings today. They are always the first things planted up in the garden each year and it is kind of a milestone of the planting season getting underway.

Back home from my cat's annual "well cat vet appointment". He and I are both glad that is over with for yet another year. Barring emergencies etc., he won't have to go through that stress again for quite a while.
