Who here knows cars? How does a 2016 Kia Soul NOT have day time/automatic headlights?
@Kinnison so? It's a 2016. My 2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara had them. I just would have thought it'd be a standard feature.
@L_D_G you are trying to compare a suzuki with kia?
For UK and EU they have been compulsory since 2011 there was a start of a transition period in 2009. So i think kia skipped it
@Kinnison more so 2009 vs 2016 vehicles. Make just for context. My brother has a 2018 or 2019 Sorento and, while I suppose it could depend on the Edition, I'm going to be surprised if his doesn't have DRLs either.
@L_D_G DRL are not mandatory in the SAE for north america.
@Kinnison Huh! Surprised they are not a standard safety feature by 2016!
@L_D_G Depends on which country the vehicle is sold in. The local distributor can specify different things in different countries. Example: Mazda Australia decided cruise control was needed on entry-level Mazda 2 Neo models. In other markets buyers had to get the next model up, the Maxx, for cruise control.
@peemee Maybe an owner imported it, but I had just figured DSLs had become standard safety features in the US by 2016.
@L_D_G It’s not a standard feature in AUS, but a lot of vehicles, Jeep especially, feature it. When I was working for the BigPhoneCompany all vehicles were modified so that the headlights came on when the ignition was switched on.
@peemee yeah, my guess is it could be a Standard vs Limited Edition thing. Just shocked my 2009 had it and my 2016 doesn't.
@L_D_G cause it is a Kia
