The clarity that has come with realizing I’ve been in denial about who Americans are is quite energizing. I have people in my life I no longer need to waste time or energy on. I don’t feel badly about that. #politics

@DavidSalo David, I always enjoy your posts. I understand your bleakness right now. It’s hard to ignore the impending peril. The U.S. just got a lot more dangerous. I’m terrified, of course, for myself, for my daughter, for people in my community. I’ve decided to throw myself into my creative work, to give the shit show itself no energy, but to track it’s consequences, and to help innocent people suffering those consequences. Simple, but even those things feel dangerous to me now. #politics

My plan is to just try to help people who are going to suffer the most from this horror, and turn my back on the people who did this, either by voting for him or because of some “purist” bullshit. Let them all have what they asked for. And please, don’t bite your tongue. It needs to be said and we need to hear it.

@Charles_Hawtrey It’s difficult to put all the context in a single character-limited post, but, trust me, based on all our previous conversations about politics, his bringing it up at all was an obvious signal to me that he voted with me, at least on POTUS47. Happily.

Feel good stories #politics edition no.2: I butt-dialed a white male Republican friend of ours this a.m. He called back, we figured out the mistake, but we chatted and he closed with “Don’t forget to vote!” I told him I already had; he said “Me too!” He had previously shared with me that he voted for TFG in 2016, then saw how TFG had no moral compass, and regretted his vote immensely. So today when he said go vote to ME? I took it as, “I got you this time, sis.” #whitedudes4kamala

Feel good stories #politics edition no. 1: my Republican husband walked into the house Wednesday morning, carrying groceries, with a fresh haircut and said, “Honey, I just voted for more blue than I ever have in my whole life.” Let it be known, he has never cast a vote for TFG, but down-ballot blue is new!
