I just saw a soi-disant "leftist" gloating over Trump's victory and explaining how everything was going to be just fine.
Which made me think: 1. You have a lot of privilege not to be affected; and 2. Disinformation hasn't merely been successful on the right. This is a typical Putinesque pincer movement, attacking the center with propaganda from the left and right simultaneously.
@DavidSalo David, I always enjoy your posts. I understand your bleakness right now. It’s hard to ignore the impending peril. The U.S. just got a lot more dangerous. I’m terrified, of course, for myself, for my daughter, for people in my community. I’ve decided to throw myself into my creative work, to give the shit show itself no energy, but to track it’s consequences, and to help innocent people suffering those consequences. Simple, but even those things feel dangerous to me now. #politics
@DavidSalo I’m trying not to pay attention to him — the time for paying attention to him is past. I did pay attention. I know who he is. The clarity that has come with realizing I’ve been in denial about who Americans are is quite energizing. I have people in my life I no longer need to waste time or energy on. I don’t feel badly about that. #politics
