@Kurtroedeger gravy and whipped cream mostly. And a little bit of stuff under each.

@Kurtroedeger I’m mostly looking forward to the day after Thanksgiving leftovers Crunch wraps. Which is all the Thanksgiving everything wrapped in a tortilla with a sprinkle of cheddar and cranberry sauce to dip it in.

@MotherDucker

Have you tried a turkey cheese quesadilla and then sandwich the other ingredients between two quesadillas with your dipping sauces?

@Kurtroedeger
Got to have the ancestral raisin-rice dressing. Also chess pie.

@Kurtroedeger Sadly not cooking this year, but my favorites are smashed bourbon sweet potatoes, wild rice pilaf with cranberries and almonds, roasted green beans with garlic slivers, cornbread and biscuit dressing. Apple pie, pumpkin pie with ginger and whipped cream with bourbon, and pecan pie. I like cranberry chutney, but my family doesn't like it as much as plain fresh cranberry sauce.

@Kurtroedeger

Usually I hew to tradition. People like their favorites. But this time I'm trying new brands, small and local. Given the political situation, I suspect everyone will be chill with something that doesn't turn out to be as good as the product by the multinational corporation.

@Fiikus_goddess if the party is large enough. I'm the only one to eat hummus in our house though.

@Kurtroedeger Just put a roast beef in the oven with carrots and beets. We will see if I ave energy to do a proper wine reduction sauce to it.

Even if not, I'll having roast beef sandwiches next week 😁

@Kurtroedeger @Fiikus_goddess

You both inspire me. I’m making blueberry pancakes from scratch. Does that count?

@Kurtroedeger Dude. This roast beef came out so gooood.

Just unwrapped it from the nesting cocoon 😂

So tender, juicy and soft like butter!

@Kurtroedeger Plenty still left. Come on over.

Whoever invented the technique of nesting a roast after the oven deserves a medal. And a cookie.

It was inside layers pf greaseproof paper, tin foil and a lambs wool pile for 4 hours..

@Kurtroedeger Yup! In the oven till barely medium, slap on some herby compound butter and roll it up.

It only takes time, but the result is worth it.

@Kurtroedeger We have lasagna. Many years ago while I was still working, no day off before Thanksgiving, my son in law offered to make lasagna. I was thrilled to give up the whole Turkey/dressing/sweet and mashed potatoes/noodles routine. He’s made lasagna ever since. I make apple salad with pomegranate, pumpkin pies, other sides. Garlic bread. We’re all happy with the subscription, including the turkey.
