This is random, I know, but inquiring minds gotta know, any other CoSoNauts have a sweet potato “problem?” I love them, like love love. I’ll eat them for breakfast, lunch, dinner, as a snack. Fried, baked, roasted, savory or sweet. You name it, I probably would love it, if it’s sweet potato related 😆

Which leads me to: If your answer is yes, and you have a favorite recipe, please share 🙃

@JeSsA yes it is. normally for pets BUT made some and left for neighbor's fur. he taste tested and wanted more.
just before done you could sprinkle with seasonings of your choice.
me, not a fan of the variety.

@annamousse Thanks!! Definitely worth trying at least once. My dogs won’t complain either way! Thank you 🙃

@annamousse I looked it up and got lots of recipes for sweet potato jerky dog treats lol.., my boys would probably love them tho!

@JeSsA
I like them, and my favorite recipe is super, super, simple. You hardly need any adornment if you bake them this way.

I have it as a PDF so I'm going to upload it that way.... One sec...

@catie omg, chickpeas and tacos, both other favorites😍😍 thank you! Saved both!

@JeSsA her recipes are fairly well stress tested. Tho she tends to under salt and under garlic in my opinion. Also multiply her time estimates by 1.5. And I’m one of those people that can dice an onion in less than 30 secs.

@catie damn girlfriend, you’ve got skills!! I also have a garlic problem, but no vampires are gunna mess with meeeee

@JeSsA oh I know right, this is what happens when you cater to under seasoned white folks. It’s not the prep that’s the problem, but she thinks to properly sauté something takes 2 min rather than 5-8 min. And that adds up.

@catie my skin is white, but my soul is not. I love all the different exotic flavors of different ethnic/cultural foods. I’ve always enjoyed cooking, and different flavors and spices. They’re what gives life to food!

@JeSsA Yeah I grew up in so many different cultures and I eat everything! 😉

@catie I just noticed your avi, is that a giant tub of alcohol? 🤣 Queen!

@JeSsA It is. 😂 New Years Eve one year. Mostly champagne but I think we threw in some wine for variety. I don’t know, the night was kinda a blur. That’s actually the most sedate picture of me. Most of them show me sitting fully in the tub drinking straight from a bottle of champagne. I also think we went skinny dipping afterwards.😂

@JeSsA Well come by anytime after this stupid pandemic is over.And I’ll show you a good time. Fair warning tho, if we go out with my cousins I’m actually considered the most most responsible one of the group so there’s no telling what might happen. Make sure you have bail money.😂😂😂

@JeSsA

Have you tried branching out into other varieties of sweet potatoes yet, like the Korean white sweet potatoes, taro (aka cocoyam) and similar? If you have any Asian food markets nearby that carry them, you should check them out if you haven't already.

@misterfive that sounds amazing! I live in western MA, on the border of VT and NH, which, while beautiful, unfortunately isn’t near any of the bigger cities with more diverse markets. I’m still going to keep an eye out though! I love potato, period, I would be open to trying 💯💯💯

@janallmac thank you thank you!! Saved! I couldn’t read the small print at the top. Do you know where I could find the associated content for these topping recipes. They sound great!

@JeSsA
Oh, gosh, sorry!
Just saw this. Let me see if I can find it....

@JeSsA
And here's the one for the Garam Masala Yogurt:

Full Disclosure: I usually just put cinnamon on them. I just really like the way the sweet potatoes taste, and the texture of them, when you bake them this way. Hope you enjoy!

@JeSsA
On the you-tuber, you can watch people yam-mer on about them and dig into the root of these vegetables.

My favorite is roasted with red pepper flakes, salt and butter.
Or fries and dip in mayo.

@Kurtroedeger but have you had fries dipped in MAPLE mayo, cuz that’s where it’s at, you punny man you 🍠

@JeSsA Hasselbeck sweet potatoes. Possibilities are endless. My hubby loves these. I also make Hasselbeck potatoes with other types of potatoes.

@PinkIguana19 ooooh baby that sounds delish! I literally just finished having a baked sweet potato for dinner and now I want more lol

@JeSsA They're so easy and you can make them sweet or savory. I prefer golden or russets, but hubby loves sweet potatoes. I don't cook potatoes hardly any other way than Hasselback.

@PinkIguana19 I’m a big potato fan period! I e never tried the hassleback method, but it sounds delicious

@JeSsA My lovely bride is in your camp. Bake, Broiled, boiled, french fried, pureed, sautéed. Whatever. She's in. I'm in the yes camp, but not to this extreme.

@Beanc 😍😍😍I have pork chops I need to use, so this is added to the list, thank you!!!

@JeSsA

Are you looking for enablers for your addiction? 🤣
