Yeah.. I thought that too in the beginning.. but what if the AI busts up the curve and makes it irrelevant.. because it no longer serves their growth??
@cjtownsend ay-yep.. and it is sooo simple to control all the intelligence we are building into our weapons of war.. even mass destruction. I fear it will not be humans that press that red button.

Seriously, 'nauts. We NOW have news stories about computers needing whole independent power plants to speed up "scientific" identification, testing, and new discoveries.. BEYOND what humans could ever do.. reducing centuries of development into a matter of weeks.. c'mon, people.. Art told us for years.. in SciFi what is coming.

Here is the thing.. I have just watched two videos about superintelligence and the looming explosion of AI based self machine-learning. And then the news about Gates' sexlife that he BRAGGED about on the House floor.. and I come to the conclusion that mankind ain't much longer for this planet.

We're halfway through the month and we're at 37% funded. This place is and will always be free. No algorithm cramming content down your gullet. Your posts, art, thoughts, links... won't train an AI to turn you into a commodity (though @Alfred is fantastic). No data to be harvested.
If you can't, don't worry about it. But if you can go #CoSoPro because this is the finest community I've found and I've been internetting for over 30 years.
We're going to need places like this more in the future.

for sure.. I have this down to a protocol.. having done this several times.. I also know that we will endure, and we will come out of this stronger.. for real. At least we have in the past.. after all, the 20th century, over all.. was pretty awful, yet here we still are.
