I've been chewing my nails to the quick for the last month, wondering what the result would be.

Not all books are for all people. I know that.

I got more than what I hoped for and it has helped motivate me to work even harder on Book 2 of the Mage of Boston series due out the end of July.

#randomthoughts Fun times. We got a notification early yesterday of a 2% chance of severe weather.

That afternoon we got a storm warning, an hour later it was severe storm warning. It skipped over tornado watch and went straight to OMG!

My phone was going off as if the Russians were nuking us. Lots of rotations over a large area. Then: There's a tornado on the ground.

F1, probably. A lot of debris tossed around. Could have been a lot worse.

@Nick_Searles this is somewhat out of date, but I still have friends in Mexico, and they still say the same thing people who can’t afford to live in the United States will go down there and then they disappear. A lot of them go just down below the border so that they can get their SSI delivered to some relatives house and get their money even though it’s illegal because somebody on SSI I can’t legally leave the United States and continue to receive benefits. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illegal_immigration_to_Mexico

@Nick_Searles you were not aware of this? I used to live in Mexico. Most of the people who live there from America are undocumented.

@Nick_Searles It's unfortunate, but I've been in Texas since 2015 to help a family member. Before then I lived in Mexico. Most of the Americans who live there are undocumented.

@kel #RandomThoughts I am more tech savvy that most and am neither Gen Z or X. I had the opportunity to put myself in the way of advancing tech as it came along.

A Gen X friend told me I knew more about tech than he did. I pointed out his job didn't have him working with tech so he knows what he needs to know.

My sister (in her 80s) knows how to use a smartphone because I taught her. Most of her friends are clueless. So is her son (Gen X).

I remember Compuserve.

@DualReality69 Absolutely agree with term limits. It does require a constitutional amendment, though. I don't see the house and senate going for it and I'm not sure the states would approve it.

That would be a heck of a change. It would require removing SCOTUS from the other Article III courts.

I'm not sure the Congress, as presently constituted, has enough brain cells between them to be able to do a successful modification like that.

After that, it could end up like the Equal Rights Amendment and not get ratified by enough states within the set time period.

If it happens it will be all or none on Art. III.

@RationalLeft @LiberalLibrarian You know, the GOP might support such an amendment because it couldn't be applied to the people presently in office.

If, for instance, every judge to any article III court had to be replaced every 10 years (or whatever) there would be an enormous interest in elections among those who wanted to change the orientation of courts.

That said: if it is for SCOTUS (Art. 3) then it's for ALL Art. 3 judges. There are 870 of them. And the senate is overwhelmed now.

Anyone remember author Sherri Tepper's "Necromancer Nine"? She did such an amazing job with fantasy necromancer in a magical game.

@kel it is not Jesus I have a problem with. It is so many of his so-called followers. We both know if he returned they’d shoot him. I’m fine with followers of Jesus who walk his walk.

@LiberalLibrarian I recommend that you go back and reread article 3 of the constitution of the United States. You’ll find that the justices of article 3 courts serve as long as they maintain good behavior. In other words, it is a lifetime appointment. In order to change this we have to change the constitution. I’m perfectly fine with amending the constitution so that we can have term limits. But that’s what it’s going to take.
