I hate this so much. There are religions and cults where families will hold funerals for their child who leaves the religion/cult. They literally pretend that person is dead, and shun them extremely harshly. This seems like the same thing. But he needs to love his child, not reject them and their community and rally politicians and leaders against them. He needs to love them, that's what he needs to do, and apparently he can't. 😟
