That means people who got absentee ballots have to turn them in in person, which is of course contrary to the whole idea of an absentee ballot, which is that you can vote when you're *not there.*

It's fundamentally a violation of the guarantee of one person, one vote, and it disfranchises qualified voters.

Georgia Supreme Court's decision means, basically, that the state can negate absentee ballots by (a) mailing them late and then (b) refusing to accept them even if they're sent before end of polling on election day–even if there's no time for the postal service to deliver the ballots between when they were received and when the due date is.
