@GaryPoole Theater Fags (it was the 80s, that's the term we used)
@GaryPoole outcast metal head
@GaryPoole You're supposed to be moody and nuts at that age. I didn't go to senior prom. I go back to my HS four years later to student teach for a college course. What happens? I girl gives me a note, it's her number. Why? Because life is a trickster. I laughed , I was thinking hello Mrs. Neusbalmer, I'm here to take Jane bowling. How old am I ? 23 why? ๐
@GaryPoole I think that's an excellent description and was why I didn't answer the first post as I too didn't hang with just one group. I didn't play sports but I was friendly with almost all the team members...helped by the fact that I read the morning announcements over the PA system for two years and, of course, added great flourish to their accomplishments (with the occasional bad Howard Cosell impersonation).
@kohoso I got to do the morning announcements once in high school. I did it using a very posh and proper English accent, and apparently the principal didn't think I was taking things seriously enough.
@GaryPoole School principals never have a sense of humor. I think it's a job requirement.
@GaryPoole Split between lone wolf and the nerd group, but my childhood best friend was part of the "cool kids", so I wasn't labelled a loser & got invited to most parties.
@GaryPoole
I was "band geek".
@GaryPoole Iโve been tagged as โaloofโ.
I canโt help that I never could stand drama. ๐
@GaryPoole band nerd + skater punks
None really. But, it definitely wasn't the jocks & popular.
@GaryPoole LOL, no one group. I refused to be pigeon holed then, as now. I am a multi faceted gem with many flaws in my crystal.
I was what is now known as a "floater" -- the ones that floated from group to group but never fit into just one.
For example, I played sports, was in the drama club, made nearly all A's, yet also was comfortable with the heavy metal kids and dressed like a long-haired '80s skatepunk.
Basically, I confused most everyone else in school. Which is how I liked it.
