Here's a drawing of me as #Potato
I actually drew it several years ago in response to a prompt in my bodybuilding group on FB (no, Dr. Frankenstein, my OTHER bodybuilding group), but it seems appropriate given #PotatoTime and #dci2023
It's funny, because I LOVE how they look with decals intact. But those have usually been either restored or very rarely used. This one is worn - but not rusted up. It was cared for and heavily used. So, either a big family, home business, or both. Either way, it did what it was built for and still works. I love that. π
@CinnamonGirlE @Florence I have seen sheet rockers that are artists, a circular brick patio built by an artist, my dad using a micrometer to calculate shim thickness for shim / bucket valvetrains as an artist too.
@Florence @Nimthiriel @th3j35t3r It's not dead yet!
@Florence
I read recently that anyone that creates is an artist. I also like to paint, draw, write, but don't consider myself an artist. Maybe we are though! π
I understand the pros and cons of the industrial age. A lot of cons... But I'll admit to enjoying the sound of a Victorian mahcine. Very evocative.
@Florence @Nimthiriel @th3j35t3r I think we have successfully beat a dead mouse. π
I got a new baby to fix up. Ca 1879 (Stockwell) Howe. The table top closes up to form the coffin top. I need to open the head as something is misaligned, but I'll post a video of it going after.
Elias Howe of Massachusetts invented the lockstitch - the 2 thread stitching we use today - and that little invention revolutionized not just home sewing but manufacturing.
That's not hyperbole.
The underside of it is unlike any I have.
Did this a while back. Pen and ink rhino. This is a framed version I gave as a gift to someone.
@Florence @Notokay @th3j35t3r 3000 LITRES FOR ONE MOUSE??? Thatβs at least three times more than one can!!!
It's me. I'm the problem. I'm that person your mother warned you about! 'We all do well when we all do well' (Wellstone) #BLM #VoteBlue #Democracy #Cancer
