So I have a job offer with few facts so far.
What; Environmental (archaeology) monitor.
Who; some railroad. π€·ββοΈ
Where; some location between the Canadian border and Louisiana TBD. π
Beginning; possibly April, or as late as July. Maybe.π€
Rate; Good hourly, per diem, motel, mileage.π
Background security check.π
Prehire drug test. π€¦ββοΈ
Which we've now scheduled for 30 days out, as I told them I have a med card but will lay off until I can pass.
Guess I'll be drinking more. π₯
Cuz that makes sense. π
According to prelim information, there is really no reason for me to be there. No archaeology known or expected. Minimum environmental issues. So I'm going to occupy a vehicle 6 days inspecting a mile or so R.O.W. with almost no duties but filling out a no impact noted report, and time sheet.
This is going to be a struggle to maintain sanity. Depends if I can work/study other things in my truck for much of the day, or if I'm expected to "lean on a shovel" all day.
@EileenKCarpenter
True that. I just don't think there's going to be much excavation. It's installing a new track.
But there's always hope I'll come across an extinct North American Dragon @Beanc
@FireMonkey You never know. They found Richard III when they were putting in a parking lot.
