Good morning my beautiful CoSo friends.
☕ While I'm making coffee. I'll show you a picture of il qat that seems to be moving in. She started by occupying the chair on the porch at the front door in the last weeks. Last night appeared upstairs in the apartment as apparently the door blew ajar. After calmly checking out things in all corners she ensconced herself here. She was awarded with sardine snak, water, and some dog kibble which she ate with grace and calm. After a bit, asked to go out.

I went out to putter in the yard and she came back upstairs without me noticing. I think she even pushed the door open (from a jar). Gave her some more sardine and checked her out. Front paws declawed. I'll ask my neighbor it she's theirs, and if not, I'll take her to vet to see if she's chipped.

Bengal Qat update: Vet scanned, breeder contacted as no owner data turned up. Breeder looked up in his database and finds that original purchaser of kitty gave bad info. No way to contact. Kitty born 7/31/17. Breeder pissed that cat was declawed. Said I can keep her, or he would send his daughter to pick her up. My CatLady friend will continue looking locally for her latest owner, even if not the original. We wouldn't put her back with them now anyway or whoever the ones that had her declawed.

Kind of seems like she's made her choice anyway. 😆🐱

Well it turns out she belongs 2 doors down, to some neighbors I know but don't hang out with. The mystery only deepens. They thought She was a He, and named 'him' Bagheera. Said Breeder sold them when they were 7. According to breeder she is only 6 now...going to call breeder to find out more.

@holon42
So I had to go find out, apparently the Leopard Cat is a wild cat, and has been bred to produce the Bengal Cat: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengal_c

@FireMonkey

is that one a Bengal, perhaps.
?
it's unusual. well, that applies to them all, but🤣

@holon42
Well, it appears to be, there is wide variance in appearance - but I don't know of any other cat so spotted. As to behavior, she likes being stroked, but did not appear to enjoy being picked up. A fair independent lass indeed, taking her leave of whatever she wants with aplomb. We'll see when she returns if she warms up more.

@FireMonkey

interesting visitor in any case. a beautiful mystery.

@FireMonkey Definitely a Bengal, and if the owner had her declawed, they don't deserve to have her 😡

@FireMonkey that looks like a bengal cat. They are very smart and strong. One was loose in our metro area last year and was very hard to catch.

@AmserJ
This one was not hard to catch. It caught me, obviously, and has now decided that my clothes pile chair is the place to be.
She is slender, but not skinny, so much as I can tell. Fur is clean and nice. She stayed for an extended body skritching while on the floor, that's when I could check her claws. She has her rear claws.

@FireMonkey she’s beautiful. Look at those eyes. You have been chosen.

@AmserJ
That's what my CatLady friend says, but she's also the one who will come over shortly and help take her to the vet. I can not get attached, as I am sure she is chipped. I hear these are sought-after cats, and even stolen.

@FireMonkey What a beautiful cat! If I couldn’t find the owner, I’d definitely keep her. 🙂

@Superstitionsee
Seems likely. Hard to turn down when the universe is so deliberate in it's actions. 😉🐱

@FireMonkey She's a beauty! It sucks the buyer had declawed her, she didn't deserve that! There's other ways to encourage cats to claw safely on proper spaces, and toys/surfaces for made for it. *sighs and shakes head.* If I lived closer, I'd more than likely offer to take her in, but I don't know how she'd handle living with a practical colony here.

@FireMonkey sure thought that looked like a California Bengal. Had one, was the best dog ever.

@b4cks4w
This one is very much a chill cat. But I've heard they can be fierce or maybe just fearsome for their size?

@FireMonkey Yeah, can be. Mine was glued to me, rode on my shoulders/head. It tamed a 75lb dog -- bit on the neck and chased it -- and then they were best buddies. Could jump onto the roof, which could be a problem. Liked puzzles and chase games. Otherwise though, very chill.

@FireMonkey As you said, it seems that she's made her choice. I expect that she's chosen well.

@FireMonkey She's beautiful. I'm glad you found the owners and I look forward to the rest of the story.

@FireMonkey thank you for sharing your neighbourhood .

I hope good things continue to happen for both of you
