I would really like to see less selfishness and more compassion from folks that live in a state that that literally has a church on almost every block in its capitol city.

@Dschema Cancer survivor here too, hit my 5 yr mark March 22nd.
I don't hink its so much as the US goverment not caring....its the GOP, Q a-hole, and deniers that have just worn people out.

@HeyMarlana My dad's youngest brother, his wife and one of their adult sons have COVID back in 2020 and it almost killed them. all 3 are diabetic like me, My uncle is highly suspectable to lung infections. All three of the ended on the vent. My aunt coded twice. somehow they all pulled through.

@SANJOSEMAILMAN I am cautious...I'm also proud to say I've never given a flying f*ck what others have said about me. lol...even as a toddler, I sassed back to anyone that tried to ridicule me. you grow a super thick skin in my family or you don't survive.
Needles to say, bullies never tried with me a a kid or adult. I go for the juggler. LOL
I get looks from folks...and I get alot of grief from my dad when I wear my mask. he wont wear one now.

some days, especially here lately, that fear is almost overwhelming...I've survivied two life threatening illness since 2014....I'll be PISSED if COVID takes me out.

What I'm struggling with is this, I live in a deep red state full of deniers, surrounded by deniers. I wear my mask when out, and I have to go out; I help my dad with his stuff on the weekends....I'm honestly terrified at this point that I'll be exposed and be one of those that's not so lucky.

so, I'm like alot of folks out here in the world, struggling with how COVID has impacted my life. I'm high risk vaxed and boosted. I'm not 50, but I am compromised...my dad's 75. he got covid less than two weeks after he got his booster. He's ok. mild/moderate case.

@kel I tend to agree with that take. All the awesome clips and videos that get around on Twitter would mean a whole lot more if they got airtime on cable or broadcast networks
