Mr. Cosmic: Jersey Mike's?

Me: Damn, that's been a while, lemme check the app.

Me: Ooooh! Enough Shore Points for a freebie!

Kudos to Jersey Mike's - my points didn't expire in the interim, but it was long enough my card had. Subs on the way!

If you've never watched Travelers (Netflix, 3 Seasons), it's a really intriguing look at time travel (intentional alteration of the timeline) with a solid and interesting ensemble cast. (I'm paradoxically both a David and a Grace fan).

Kinda funny, actually. I was directed to proof that I should review only to discover I was blocked by the truth speaker, LOL!

I do appreciate the tools and adore the irony. 🤣

One of the folks on my team is a super detailed note taker who writes up fabulous meeting minutes. She invests a great deal of time in it, however.

I suggested she try out the Zoom AI that just rolled out - highlights, statistics, chapters, transcript, action items, etc.

She told me today it had cut her time in half and she was better able to focus on the meeting. Notably, she also pointed out some flaws and the need to review.

This is an excellent use case for AI.

What Harvey Weinstein’s Overturned Conviction Means for Donald Trump’s Trial

The legal issue behind Weinstein’s successful appeal is also at the heart of the former President’s hush-money case.

It is not insignificant that Idaho is predominantly Mormon and has the highest per capita number of Mormons outside of Utah.

Nor that they have *more* Fundamentalist LDS sects than Utah.

It's a thing - state laws are written around bleeding and diverting federal and taxpayer funds to the dominant religious priorities:

sltrib.com/opinion/letters/201

The entire EMTALA case is about money, you know. It's called "bleeding the beast".

What's at stake is forcing taxpayers nationwide to subsidize hospitals who refuse emergency care based on their religious beliefs.

Chattel states want you to keep giving them money to do whatever they want, including dumping critically ill patients in other states.

Next up - and I can guarantee this one - states will quit accepting transfers.

BTW, that is sort of sarcasm.

But it is entirely possible. Addicts have no monetary value to a capitalist society and are actually drains on services. Plus, clearly not good Christians or they would be rewarded with magic money for being patriotic soldiers of [insert religion].

Same with the homeless, disabled, and the elderly. The hard truth is that a fully capitalist society puts these people in the loss column and tries to write them out as quickly as possible.

BREAKING!!!

[Insert chattel state] outlaws the administration of naloxone for opioid overdoses, citing it encourages addiction by making it less dangerous.

Maybe we can all start treating patients based on the laws in the state where they were born, since we are now free citizens of states and not a country where we can expect equal treatment from state to state.

Gukesh is 17, making him the youngest qualifier for the World Championship Match. Lots of sour grapes grousing about it being a fluke, him not being ready, etc.

Kasparov was the previous "youngest" at 20 and sees it differently. ♟️

"Yeah! Send those out of state students subsidizing our university home and stop making it all about being good at schoolin'."

I am shocked that a flagship, R1 university would only accept A students. Shocked, I say.
Soooo close...

If SCOTUS frees the J6 rioters, thereby condoning that as legal behavior not punishable by jail time, all barriers and security should be removed from the Court.

EMTALA was a Republican band-aid to stave off demands for Universal Healthcare by being able to say "Even the poors will get treated in an emergency".

Start carving out exceptions and it's no longer a bulwark - this is good, though some folks in Idaho (and other breeder states) are going to die because of it.

Idaho has more hate groups per capita than any other state besides Montana.

I suppose it's time for doctors and nurses to move to a free state. 🤷

I'm with Kate Lister (@WhoresOfYore) - I'll take the bear. And for good reasons, as she notes. I did consider asking which kind of bear at least. 🤷
