When I was in the 5th grade, my mom ran for office, having moved me from my academically challenging Catholic school to the rural public school over the summer. I was bookish and miserable. I had been an extrovert but barely spoke at school. Oh and how I was bullied.
My mom put me back in private school during her campaign. She lost. But, after reading this, maybe not. #GiftArticle
When bullied students end their lives, parents are suing. And schools are paying.
Interesting aside - though I loathed the colors and patterns, I really liked school uniforms. When Cosmic Jr went to a local charter (they were public schools and very limited back then), they had polo/khaki uniforms and he really liked it.
I dunno, it's really not that confining when you consider hair, nails, jewelry, and shoes. And it takes a lot of peer pressure off. Or it did for me.
We had both - white shirts, solid navy pants or tartan skirts. What I loathed was the Peter Pan collars and little cross snap ties. They were horrible and probably the reason I elected not to pursue the Navy, LOL!
