Interesting aside - though I loathed the colors and patterns, I really liked school uniforms. When Cosmic Jr went to a local charter (they were public schools and very limited back then), they had polo/khaki uniforms and he really liked it.
I dunno, it's really not that confining when you consider hair, nails, jewelry, and shoes. And it takes a lot of peer pressure off. Or it did for me.
@Cosmichomicide In my parochial grade school, girls had a uniform but boys did not. Wasn't fair, but when I was a boy I didn't think about that very much.
We had both - white shirts, solid navy pants or tartan skirts. What I loathed was the Peter Pan collars and little cross snap ties. They were horrible and probably the reason I elected not to pursue the Navy, LOL!
Also, not married to the polo/khaki thing, though it does make summer easier with shorts. I'm also fine with solid color t-shirts and jeans or whatever works for the students and parents.
It really is nice not to have to worry about your outfit in the mornings. I still have 5 identical shirts in different colors for Zoom.
