@hunkthunderzone the nicotine is gone, but what happens over a long period of time is that the combined action of narrowing and stiffening blood vessels and arteries because of the side effects of nicotine creates a situation where the person is more likely to develop plaque and clots associated with cardiovascular disease. This sort of thing is associated with more than just smoking, but smoking makes it all worse.
@ToriLRidgewood Classic
@CaliZaybak all I’m seeing is that the Future Drugs account isn’t coming back, so whatever, Twitter haha
@singlemaltgirl I dunno, I find it pretty affordable after considering that the only food I can eat at a movie theatre is coffee.
@ToolPackinMama I find it weird how the main contribution today Lambchop has made on culture is popular dog toys. Dogs love Lambchop.
@etakeh Brooks has been working as professor and in theatre, but he claims he is mysteriously blacklisted from Hollywood. Of everyone on Star Trek, as I said, I’d like to see more from him even if it is in more Star Trek.
Crazy thing, I loved Quantum Leap when I was a kid and seeing Scott Bacula in a Star Trek was amazing to me. If they had only not gone to that danged expanse…
I’m going to go ahead and use this as a microblog right now because I’ve got no real sleep and full day ahead of me: ultimately, the zombie Imperial fleet in Star Wars was terrific, definitely should have been the plot from the beginning, but those first two movies are so mismatched I think it’s going to be an Indiana Jones where one is Spectacular, one is watchable just for the milieu and actors, and one is just forgotten.
@etakeh I thought I had, but I guess I missed that one after I looked it up.
I’m still kind of angry that Avery Brooks decided/got blacklisted (classic quit/fire) because I thought his whole thing in Captains was pretty cool. Lots of people found it hard to take, but to me that proves that he is a fantastic actor and writer if he’s normally a jazz man haha
@Krysdammit The big bands in Scandivnavia who were basically the equivalent of American big 4 thrash metal were Unleashed, Dismember, Entombed, and Grave. EXCEPT I would propose because of the length of time and their overall worldwide success, it must include At The Gates and In Flames. For me though, I love Grave, but the Scandinavian parallel to “Grunge” called D-Beat is the best stuff I think right now 🤘
@Agatha sport hunting annoys me because they go on to describe the scenario and it seems entirely rigged. Not even some safari or Texas thing we all uniformly hate, but even in Quebec or Ontario. How do you derive any sort of “victory” or even achievement? It was basically just trapping, not hunting. Another thing that annoys me about hunting as a chef is that I’d really like to do anything except what they normally do - get the rack, turn the rest into bad sausage.
Thinking about my family because I can’t sleep again. I want to go to Finland someday, see the city my grandpa was from, and the village my grandma was from. The thing is that this is a *desire*, but both of them were perfectly Euro Canadian and never really even let on that they missed it. My grandpa made his perfect Finnish life in Alberta. As an adult I realize Grandma was happier later haha
@etakeh Terry Farrell shouldn’t have left. Terry Farrell was right to leave. I think it sucks that essentially the realized arc for Dax was to…die and become someone else. The Trill were badly written too because it’s one enormous informed characteristic.
@XaoslordErie I’m going to say this and boost it myself after: the absolute dumbest idiot I know is antivaxx. The number of dumb, pathetic, sad things that have happened to this guy would bring down anybody…but he’s a profoundly dumb guy and seems to ?revel? in it. THAT guy distrusts vaccines.

"Responsible gun owners" are unicorns, in my book.
@Agatha as a Canadian, I think hunting and shooting are perfectly good hobbies a person can have but none of the weapons (weapons!!) required to pursue that are remotely close to what they seem to want? It bugs me because gun ownership seems to escalate pretty easily…
@Agatha the problem is that it’s always a Not A TRUE Scotsman because the perp is always some maniac or someone with definite goals and ideals. That’s why the US mental illness defence is hollow and wrong. What’s the difference, really?
I would like to point out for all the Robert Anton Wilson fans on the site and for all the liberal shills who DON’T believe in “Conspiracy Theories”: when the vast majority of them get uncovered, they’re just criminal cases and madness. This George Santos thing was a Conspiracy concocted by a dozen people, sloppy, and it got uncovered. Their plan was to have an EVEN MORE pliant vote than A LADY WHO PROBABLY PLANTED TWO PIPEBOMBS.
@Krysdammit yeah! It’s like I said: I’m appreciating Art by Artists. The mien of that art might be angry, but I’m not angry - I’m having a great time listening to something great! Last summer, I met At The Gates totally by accident. We were on a patio on the block outside the very show they were about to play. We didn’t know it was them, but they seemed like perfectly normal busy people haha.
