Every gun was once in the hands of a "responsible gun owner" - until it wasn't.
A storage unit is not an appropriate place to store weapons. The owner should be charged.
"... he was reportedly breaking into a unit where guns were stored."
@Agatha the problem is that it’s always a Not A TRUE Scotsman because the perp is always some maniac or someone with definite goals and ideals. That’s why the US mental illness defence is hollow and wrong. What’s the difference, really?
"Responsible gun owners" are unicorns, in my book.
@Agatha as a Canadian, I think hunting and shooting are perfectly good hobbies a person can have but none of the weapons (weapons!!) required to pursue that are remotely close to what they seem to want? It bugs me because gun ownership seems to escalate pretty easily…
@Agatha sport hunting annoys me because they go on to describe the scenario and it seems entirely rigged. Not even some safari or Texas thing we all uniformly hate, but even in Quebec or Ontario. How do you derive any sort of “victory” or even achievement? It was basically just trapping, not hunting. Another thing that annoys me about hunting as a chef is that I’d really like to do anything except what they normally do - get the rack, turn the rest into bad sausage.
@Chriskorvela
I lived in GA for 25 years (not willingly 😂). Hunting is king. A lot of deer went to waste, and, yes, into really bad sausage. I ate deer once (roasted) and didn't enjoy the flavor. Learning how they are hunted, later, put me off trying it again. We'd be gifted a lot of inedible sausage. My ex would try to eat it... 😂
