@Bix Count on it not to happen. Kids are human beings, how do you make human beings less expensive?

@Bix

blah blah blah "child care is child care" blah blah blah

good answer dick head...

he never took care of his own kids, did he? spent long nights with them when they were sick... took them to the park... cooked dinner...

@tgraph52
Of course, tariffs on foreign nations will bring down the cost of childcare.
If that makes sense to you, then vote MAGA.

@Bix

I'm not raising anyone else's grandkids, including my own. (I don't have any. Told my son not to have any unless he's ready to raise them himself.)

@Bix

This mf still thinks every country needs us. Yes, we're the biggest consumers atm bc, relatively speaking, we're wealthy & (not relatively) we're wasteful as fuck.

Maybe a tariff increasing the prices of frivolous goods will make us think twice abt buying shit we don't need, but that's not going to bring back US manufacturers of shit we don't need bc they still won't be able to match the prices of China. Unless, of course, they bring back slave labor via increased forced pregnancies.

@Bix

Childcare becomes less of an issue when little Johnny and Susie go to work in the factories when they're 5.

We need to not buy so much shit from countries that use child labor AND not allow child labor here. Instead, the GOP wants to reproduce how China does things.

@Agatha @Bix But where will I buy inexpensive clothing?

(I'll buy them at the thrift store like I enjoy doing so my voting dollars go to a charity.)

@tippitiwichet @Bix

Remember how cars became more expensive during the pandemic so used car prices went through the roof?

Same thing happened at thrift stores. Their prices shot up. Shut off the flow and those used clothing prices will go through the roof as the cheap shit drops off the market (especially as that stuff isn't made to last).

@Agatha @Bix What? I didn't even know that happened with cars. Bummer, I haven't been clothes shopping since I doubled my wardrobe splurging on five shirts from Salem. Maybe three years ago? I'm not super huge on shopping in general. Hmm. I did get some stuff from one shop that was pricey but I thought that was because it was in a prosperous area.

@tippitiwichet @Bix

I don't shop much. I sew. I mend. Fabric isn't cheap (and usually comes from India), but what I make lasts.

We were sharing a car prior to the pandemic and had planned on buying a second one when shut down happened. Glad we didn't, because we'd have been paying for a car we didn't need when my husband went work from home. When we got ready again we were shocked right out of the market. When my husband's sister died in April, he inherited her car, which has been bittersweet.

@Agatha @Bix Damn. I asked Joe for a sewing machine when we had the money. He's about to be prosperous again, but we broke up. Oh well.

@tippitiwichet @Bix

They can be found on places like FB marketplace, Craigslist, garage sales, etc pretty cheaply. Just gotta try it before you buy it.

@Bix Tariffs oughta do it 🙄 He admits we have the money..

@Bix

So Trump’ plan for childcare and everything is the TRILLIONS and TRILLIONS of dolllars he’s going to charge all other countries who want to sell something in America.

Trump claims he’ll eliminate any deficit.

Trump lies like a rug.
