I might actually go to sleep at a reasonable hour tonight. Instead of looking for my next target in my hacking lab I decided it was a good place to stop tonight

Got a new pair of shoes 2 weeks ago, wore them like crazy for 3 days to break them in before spending a week in vegas. They were extremely comfortable except the toe started fraying so I exchanged them for an identical pair. New pair are an uncomfortable mess that won't stop squeaking and driving me crazy. How is this possible?

How is it as rarely as I go to the movies these days when I do the theater is nearly empty and you pick your assigned seat, and someone always picks the seat immediately next to me?

Other than the dude talking to the movie and muttering β€œthat’s cool” after every trailer I liked the new ghostbusters

Binging the early 2000's show Veronica Mars, haven't seen it since it first aired.
Season 2 finale (2006)... Veronica and her father talking about packing for their post season trip to NYC, "... and pepper spray, in case we run into that Trump character."

Woke up this morning and my big toe was hurting out of the blue and reminds me of having gout which I haven't had in a handful of years. If it still hurts in the morning I'll hit up urgent care to get some fresh meds, but the pain is pretty isolated to the top of my toe, and I attempted running yesterday. It isn't the willing to cut my toe off with a rusty, dull spoon to make it go away that I remember.

I'm 99% sure the job offer I just received is a scam. Back in Feb I applied to an IT security consultant company via their website, and the last few days I was contacted by someone allegedly doing their screening. After receiving and returning a questionnaire I was offered the job without an interview with terms that were too good to be real. I found a random person with an appropriate sounding title on LinkedIn and they are responding to my inquiry.

Not that I'm a "watch the oscar nominated movies" person but I was intrigued by "Poor Things" since I like most of the cast. Interesting movie but learn from my mistake, this is not a movie to watch with your parents or children πŸ˜‚

We did it! Bad manager announced that he is leaving

This week will be interesting, had a couple of emails for phone interviews. Also had a cold call for a somewhat local (30min away) consultation place that is looking for a cyber security team lead. I'm intrigued but was looking for 100% remote and they're 100% onsite. I'm still intrigued.

This is not a single incident. He blew through any good will with the team 2 days after he was hired and everyone hates him.

Been on the job hunt as a result, and fortunately someone from one of my other groups got a promotion and reached out to several people he is hoping to poach to his new team. I'm one of them.

Damn my manager is such a useless waste of space. I've never worked for someone that got upset because you see something that needs to get done and does it.

The one today is, "I want everyone to clear their task of stale tickets this is to acknowledge that you looked at them." Mine are related to delayed projects half will be done next week, other half by end of March and due to age they vanished from my queue.

Instead of using that task as my checklist he wants me to log them separately

@SuziqLeathers
See, even that group are offended by being lumped in the same group with him πŸ˜„

@peeppeepcircus
they are, its like... you're supposed to sense when I'm in distress and comfort me.

Nope, feed me, give me walks and treats

Last week was an amazing week in Costa Rica considering it was frigid cold back home. This week I'm suffering the consequences, had a little sniffle and cough so been testing myself every day since returning and it looks like i have the souvenir covid.

Had my virtual doc appt, paxlovid is ready for pickup, but I'm not sure if I'll use it. Going through waves of stuffy head and coughing, body and head aches. Breathing fine except when my unsympathetic dog makes me take him for walks.

Also for the longest time Firefox didn't support management via GPO. Hated trying to manage that for business

If I remember, Firefox became the resource hog that IE was. I'm actually back on it for now because I trust my ad-blocking and anonymizing plugins more that Chrome and last I remember, Chrome was going to start knocking those out

Two months ago I randomly chose a week to choose to go on vacation to Costa Rica. I got back from that week yesterday. Little did I know that was going to be the same week that back home was going to get hit by an arctic blast and be the most perfect week to go someplace warm

@davejefferynf
I was this close to going there on vacation later this week... going to costa rica instead
