Got a random text from one of those political lists you get added to... they are looking for people to run for local offices. Not interested in a job where 90% is begging for money to keep it.

The annual holiday, "what are we doing for our family get-together" silent text thread.
I see my siblings and their kids often enough, but its the other two that don't because of kids and schedules, but somehow they still expect me to attend for the stuffing our faces again and sitting around watching netflix. Not doing anything meaningful again.
Also pointing this out makes me the jerk, as does saying "you guys communicate and figure something out, I end up doing it every year and am done"

@BenA
They keep listing Walgreens on all of these "closing stores" lists year after year but they always fail to mention that years ago they acquired Rite Aid and since many of these locations are on opposite corners of the street, and under occupancy leases they close these stores once the leases are up. That isn't necessarily a sign of struggling business, they'd take a bigger hit breaking contract to close the stores.

And neither does whoever is having him desecrate it. I was raised going to church on sundays but no longer do it, but even I would be hesitant about defacing a book like that so many others put so much stock in

Ugh, new manager is making a 5th calendar to track time on that duplicates but doesn't remove the need to use 3 other ones plus adds a level of micromanaging under the guise of "stop stolen work time". I'm not seeing a red flag, I'm seeing a red ribbon banner that stretches across the field, and I'm not the only one.

Never fails, gave managers new computers yesterday and 2 of them asked me for assistance, the 3rd was too busy. Today I WFH and the 3rd is now setting up the computer. Who do you think gets the call for help? Any of the handful of other people in the office with him who can see what he is doing, or me who is working remotely and "remote viewing isn't working" for?

I still got it! Got my cousin’s business’ label printer circa 2011, still running windows 7 and pretty much stuck on the welcome screen working and updating to win 10. All it took was a ssd and disabling/removing a bunch of crap his ex installed for her kids

@Mfieck
The irony is I heard an interview of Jerry post-show when he was running for office and he actually had a platform that I could support if I lived in that district.

Just completed the SQL Injection chapter of my certification. That was rough. I'm going to need to go back at some point because I overly relied on an automatic tool that happened to work, although very slow, and I'm going to learn other ways of doing the attacks

@th3j35t3r
I had to look it up, Facebook attempted to be a "gmail killer" by giving users a Facebook.com email address from 2010-2014(ish). Nobody used it

@duglop
I mean who doesn't need a brief nap after that πŸ˜‚

My PLP says I was here since Nov 2017, and I think I was in the first day or so. Stats say over 2300 posts, which that is exponentially more than all other social media sites combined for all time for me... as long as you don't count Discord as one.

@spacesloth
just finished web applications. I got all of the flags but too often I feel like I stumbled across them or brute forced a process when I was supposed to follow a more elegant path

About a week and a half into OSCP, the course says 36% complete but after the struggles on this last unit I'm going to take a couple of days, rest and recover then redo everything up to this point to see how much stuck and where I'm still struggling

OSCP course... successfully performing basic hacks in environments designed for them to work... "I am the greatest hacker"
followed by spending 3 hours trying to figure out how you're supposed to to know when the header they're asking for says "HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR" they are looking for it entered as "X-Forwarded-For" (case sensitive) feels like a built in confidence killer

Lunch with a bunch of coworkers on our day off. It sounds pretty unanimous that nobody seems to like the new manager.

One of the guys say something pretty good too, β€œpeople don’t leave jobs they leave bad managers”

The way my night has been going...

Question asks for info about object referencing version X. Its right there right in my face, what do you mean that's the wrong answer?!?

Looks up support forum... "the question is asking for version X but really meant to ask version Y." Fix it and go to the next question...

"Scan system and provide any name of vulnerability from 2021."
Completes scan, no vulns from 2021 found. Google similar from 2021, submit success

I feel dirty that the OSCP required me to sign up for a twitter/x account for a single lesson in OSINT. Did I HAVE to? No. But I'm one of those people that can't leave a checkbox unchecked in these sorts of things.

@elbutterfield
its my mom's sister, and my mom isn't even going. Not out of any spite or anger, she just doesn't want to travel to the other side of the state where this particular sister of her lived
