@Agatha Just tell them to turn around because, "Something something," I guess? That seems to work?

@Agatha I hear good things about HIS HOUSE from Etakeh and others. I'm glad to hear you liked NANNY, as I haven't gotten any feedback on that one yet.

Tonight, for Saturday , 6/24/23, in recognition of National Immigrant Heritage Month, we're watching two films (that I haven't seen before): first, at 8:00 PM US Central is Nikyatu Jusu's NANNY (2022). Then, around 9:50 PM US Central, we'll watch HIS HOUSE (2020), dir. Remi Weekes.

@ChillySnowgirl Thanks! Bummer if you can't come tonight, but either way, have a great weekend.

@Apocryphiliac I'm not sure if i'll join, but giving this a boost because it's always a fun time and anybody that shows up will enjoy themselves! 🙂

Tonight, for Saturday , 6/17/23, we're celebrating Father's Day with two movies about killer dads! First, at 8:00 PM US Central, is Bill Paxton's FRAILTY (2001). Then, at 10:00 PM US Central we're watching 1987's THE STEPFATHER.

Tonight, for Saturday , 6/10/23, we're streaming two LGBTQ+ films featuring Jennifer Tilly!

The first, at 8:00 PM US Central, is Lilly and Lana Wachowski's BOUND (1996), followed at 10:00 PM US Central by SEED OF CHUCKY (2004).

@LnzyHou I'm not sure if he really believed the line he was selling, or if what Robert Reich has implied about his being a stooge for the Right (specifically multi-billionaire John Malone) is true. Maybe a bit of both.

@ChelseaGirl429 He definitely took the wrong approach from the outset. It was always going to be an uphill battle, and then he made such large missteps at every point along the way.

I just saw the report that Chris Licht is out at CNN. Good.

Here's a really excellent (if a bit long) article from the The Atlantic that gives a lot of insight into Licht and the disastrous town hall with He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named.

Four Characters That Traumatized Me When I Was A Kid
(I was way too young for Oz, sister didn’t care, lol)

@SalK Hahaha! The first couple times he jumped up to dance, I was like, “😬 eeee come sit back down!” but 3 hours (factoring in when we got there + the ads and trailers + the actual runtime of the film) is just a damn long time for a 5-year-old to sit still, so as the movie continued past the halfway point, I pretty much just let him do his thing, and I’m glad I did.

@SalK Haha. Yeah the “AI could never!” was my first thought, too. 🙌

My son wore his Miles Spidey shirt to the film and kept getting out of his seat to dance to the awesome soundtrack.

I’m such a dork that I wore this shirt to the movie. 😂
