Finally watched Thor: Love and Thunder. Hoo boy. It felt like they were trying to recapture that Ragnarok feeling, but Ragnarok let the jokes grow organically from the plot, not letting them take the forefront.

In T:LaT, the jokes feel forced, especially considering how Jane figures into the story. The third act was strong, but alas, to get to it, once must get through acts one and two.

Genesis was my first encounter with #DoctorWho. Imagine knowing nothing of the show, and your first impression being a closeup of Davros screaming "EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!"

Watching Genesis of the Daleks on Britbox. It's that rare #DoctorWho series that runs for six episodes and yet doesn't feel padded.

About 5:30 in the morning on Christmas Eve Day. Nobody up but me and the cat. Drinking my coffee in front of the glowing monitor.

Feeling a little off, so I self-tested just in case. It is testimony against the notion of "intelligent design" that we have touch receptors that far up in the nasal cavity. Ugh.

First day of winter break, and we're in the middle of what the papers are calling "the Grinch storm." Rain, high winds, five different weather alerts in the AccuWeather app. Power's getting knocked out all over the state, just before temps plummet.

Simply having a wonderful Christmastime.

So I have a three-day work week ahead of me, followed by a week and a half of paid holiday time off. Working in an academic setting has its advantages, I must say.
