Now, I can't say I'm understanding all the details, but I do think I'm starting to get the concepts and a feel for how it all works now.

The #gamedev angle is definitely better for keeping my interest than the usual "Hello World" tutorials, though not as straightforward. YMMV but this better suits my learning style.

Way back in time, when I was just getting into computers, a hard drive (or 'Winchester drive') was around 10mb and considered more storage than anyone would ever need.

Now, I'm looking at my main SSD and thinking "only 64Gb left? I need to keep an eye on this..."

While I've wrapped up my self-learning for today, I'm relaxing by watching some other videos by the same guy (Sebastian Lague). It's all so chilled out and he's got a really understated sense of humour that I like 🙂

So I said I'd decided to start playing with #Unity and C#, and I think I mentioned jumping in at the deep end with procedural generation, too.

I have an electric guitar that I don't really use anymore. I also have a cheap 3-string cigar box guitar that I love playing but can't help but notice it's crapness.

What I'd like to do is to convert the electric so I could play it the same way, so it'd be tuned GDG and then GDG an octave lower.

The thing I'm struggling with is string choice - what thicknesses should I be looking at?

I did a thread about Quilliam's supposed study into grooming gangs, the one where they claimed 84% of grooming gang members were asian.

Not to blow my own trumpet, but I think it's a pretty good resource for anyone who's still coming across far-right muppets still trying to make that claim.

I don't know how many of you follow far-right activity in the #UK, but it's a thing I was very much involved with on THE HELLSITE. If you do, @DrEllaC is a great follow and, imo, is one of the key reasons why Maajid Nawaaz and #Quilliam are no longer a thing, after she openly questioned their 'research'

When we talk about 'the free press', what do we mean? What is it that we want the press to be free from, exactly?

To me, it's freedom to report honestly, free from pressures that might encourage dishonesty. But if that's the case, 'the free press' is largely a myth because no media outlet is free from those pressures. In turn, that begs the question, who benefits from perpetuating the myth of a free press?
