This is the fault of Pat McAfee of not only giving Aaron Rodgers a platform, but actually paying him. Kimmel has every right to sue. Disney has to figure this out and also McAfee needs to solve this quick. awfulannouncing.com/disney/jim

Also, this is truly a story that makes me feel X/Twitter is out of control and maybe the breaking point with so many bots and fakes saying they saw Kimmel in the Epstein documents (which he is not).

It’s interesting that it takes celebrities to change the status quo. Remember the pandemic when Tom Hanks and a few NBA players got Covid? Everything shut down. Kimmel and possibly the end of X. Lee Sun-kyun’s suicide is now shining a focus of South Korea’s policies. There are other recent examples, but also why celebrities matter.

To follow up, McAfee is going after Norby Williamson, who is the VP of Production for ESPN. You can hat McAfee, and it’s understandable, but if you want to know what ESPN is now, for the most part, it’s Norby.

@tracytran I honestly don't know what it will take to kill off X. People have been saying RIP Twitter/X for a long time. I'll be surprised if it happens and admit I'm wrong but I don't think it'll happen. I really hope my cynicism makes me look dumb one day.

@SaltyVeruca I don’t think it will die because with all its faults, it is still the best mainstream platform (besides here 😎 ) but the Kimmel fake story might be where the number of fake stories and conspiracies might be overwhelming where people had enough.

@tracytran
Yeah - I remember when the Reagan admin completely ignored the AIDS epidemic until Nancy's friend Rock Hudson died.

@tracytran Rodgers is a fucking wing nut who smokes toad poison. And this is from a Wisconsinite right here.

@tracytran And at the end of the day, Pat McAfee is still a punter.

@SaltyVeruca @tracytran I have no clue how McAfee got popular as a "commentator".....

@Razdawg22 @SaltyVeruca he originally came from Barstool after retiring, then went on his own and became successful. He had a big deal with FanDuel, but wanted to leave because he was starting a family. He signed with Disney. It’s the same show. Difference is he’s part of a bigger brand and is magnified. He admit he has not adjust to it. He’s popular with the Bro crowd and can be hit or miss.

@tracytran @SaltyVeruca Barstool is a cesspool IMO so no surprise that's where he started his 2nd "career".....not a fan as you probably can tell 😉

@tracytran @Razdawg22 Still inexplicable to me. Still a punter. On the other hand there's a ton of commentators I don't get so here we are. Sports, man.

@tracytran Disney has deep pockets. It wouldn't be terrible if Kimmel helped lighten them.

@tracytran

Just watched that. Disney should pay any penalties, drop the show, issue a sincere apology to Kimmel, and announce exactly how much money McAfee received.

Though, being a Disney joint, I'm sure there are ways to just throw him out of the car for being felony stupid.

@Cosmichomicide Disney wanted him and they should have known Pat plays by his own rules. Even if you boot Pat, now you have a Norby problem. If you follow sports media for awhile, Norby has been the main reason key talent leave ESPN, but has been unscathed, but now is in the mainstream because of Pat. “Firing” Pat fixes a short-term issue, but not long-term.

@tracytran

Isn't that the story of sports tho? Ok, so they could push Pat to drop Rodgers.

Honestly, I've been so frustrated by the sports reporting talent they dropped for click bait "chatting with the bros" garbage, I don't even pay attention to ESPN anymore.
