You know how they say that if you want a cake mix to taste bakery quality, use milk and butter, not water and oil? I did that: white cake, semi-sweet and butterscotch chips and chocolate sprinkles mixed in, cream cheese frosting and more chocolate sprinkles. I can vouch for this strategy. #CoSoBaking
@Superstitionsee
I had heard it multiple times but this was the day to try it
@publickovacs do you substitute using the same measurements?
@Superstitionsee
Yes. Sometimes it is recommended to add an extra egg, too, but I did not do that.
@publickovacs thanks! 😊
@publickovacs Looks delicious😋!
I hadn't heard that, I'll give it a try - there's a box of cake mix in the pantry. Thanks.
@heyrhiannon
You are welcome - let me know how it goes!
@publickovacs
I will!
Dear god…yes
@LnzyHou
Sweetie I am not sure how you feel 😜🤣
@publickovacs I can confirm. Butter adds a flavor that plain oil cannot, and these cake mixes typically contain milk solids already, so you're sort of doubling up the milk.
@publickovacs . Thanks. I did not know that.
@Cmnslivn
You are very welcome!
@publickovacs Good to know!
@publickovacs Wow, I’ve gotta try this! 😋
@ExPatExp88
Hope it works well for you!
@publickovacs I had never heard that before, but I saw a box of white cake mix in my cabinet, so I think I'll give it a whirl. Thanks 😊
