You know how they say that if you want a cake mix to taste bakery quality, use milk and butter, not water and oil? I did that: white cake, semi-sweet and butterscotch chips and chocolate sprinkles mixed in, cream cheese frosting and more chocolate sprinkles. I can vouch for this strategy.

@publickovacs I had never heard that before, but I saw a box of white cake mix in my cabinet, so I think I'll give it a whirl. Thanks 😊

Yes. Sometimes it is recommended to add an extra egg, too, but I did not do that.

@publickovacs I can confirm. Butter adds a flavor that plain oil cannot, and these cake mixes typically contain milk solids already, so you're sort of doubling up the milk.
