Was already angry & depressed about women's rights this morning. Then went to write a check & found the new checks we ordered only have my husband's name on them, despite it being a joint account. We are perplexed. Our old checks had both of our names. And now I feel even worse.

I know this sounds like a very small problem, and it is. It's fixable, I'm sure. But it's the accumulation of this kind of thing that chips away at you, you know? And then when you come across yet another small problem just after a really big problem, it's like lemon juice on a wound.

That sounds very melodramatic, which means I should probably go put that energy into my wip or something now.

@meganpaasch Make sure the bank makes it good and doesn't bill you for the mistake. @philipcardella

@meganpaasch I feel you. I’m sitting at a car dealership right now having my car serviced and for the umpteenth time they have the car under my husband’s name and not mine. He brought it in once when I couldn’t and I’ve owned the car and bring it in regularly since 2016. Every time I ask them to change it and they say they have but somehow it reverts back to his name every other visit. This was not the day to have that happen again. Small but infuriating.

@meganpaasch I know this thing exactly. You're not wrong to feel this way, and you are not alone.

@meganpaasch That sucks! You should make them fix it for free.

Side note: I can't believe you write so many checks that you had to order more. πŸ˜‚

@ianthealy Oh, it took us years to go through the old ones, lol. The only thing we typically have to write checks for is school stuff these days. I always have to remind myself how to properly write one. πŸ˜‚

@ianthealy Also, thank you. That side note cheered me up, lol

@meganpaasch I can't write checks from my location. Where's that?

The future. I live in the future, Megan. 😜

@ianthealy I wanna live there. I hate having to write checks.

@meganpaasch The same thing happened to us!!! Joint account, replacement checks only have his name on them... I have to get his signature to pay contractors. Back to the kitchen for me, I guess. πŸ™„

@Sweetteansass Infuriating! Are you still a joint signer on the account? I think you might still be able to sign the checks even if your name isn't printed on them as long as you're listed as a joint signer (but don't quote me on that.) But still, it's the principle of the thing. It's your account, too. Your name should be included. *hugs*

@Sweetteansass And since I'm also not sure about that joint signer thing, I also asked my husband to just go ahead and be the one to write the check for my kids' darn camp sweatshirt order this morning. Sigh.
