Twitter Threatens Legal Action Against Nonprofit That Tracks Hate Speech

The Center for Countering Digital Hate said it had received a letter from X, Twitter’s parent company, accusing it of trying to hurt the social platform with its research.

This is a gift article, so no paywall.

@jjmacnab BWAHAHAHA. If telling the truth hurts your advertising, maybe the solution isn't to sue the truth tellers...

@jjmacnab trump tactics..the longer he is in the spotlight, the uglier he gets.

@jjmacnab

For a guy who loves free speech so much, he files a lot of absurd SLAPP suits to keep people from expressing their opinions.

@mcfate @jjmacnab Modern conservatism generally believes that rules are for thee, not for me! Elmo is especially of that way of thinking. All of this nonsense comes down to Elmo's hurt ego and his wanting to stop people from saying mean things about him there, IMO.

@ITKV @mcfate @jjmacnab When it's all said and done, he could have better spent the $42 billion on a dedicated psychologist.

@carmen @ITKV @jjmacnab

What's the point when he's already steadfastly convinced that he really IS smarter than the entire world?

After all, everyone he ALREADY pays tells him so.

@jjmacnab
Too bad he's got idiots for lawyers, if he has any at all. The Center can choose any venue in the country with the most robust anti-SLAPP laws, file a suit in expectation of Musk's suit on the strength of his threatening letter, and force them to show their evidence that there is any basis for their suit -- and then pay the Center's legal fees when there isn't.

Or the Center could wait for a lawsuit and collect some very sweet discovery.

@jjmacnab I look forward to a judge explaining that you cannot libel garbage by saying it stinks.
