Looks like I'm going to lose my father in law to inoperable cancer in weeks or maybe only days. He's a good person although he's fallen into the Faux News hole as he's gotten older and sicker and that causes a lot of friction. I haven't talked about this part with my wife but I'm pretty sure her mom will not live much longer after he passes. After being together for 50+ years, I wouldn't be surprised at all for her to let herself pass.
@ianthealy ๐
@ianthealy holy crap. That is more than your share. :(
Hugs to your family
@ianthealy Iโm very sorry about your FIL and Iโm so happy she is ok.
I am so sorry.
@ianthealy ๐ glad your daughter is ok
@ianthealy that's significant. She's okay?
@Jezibaba She's fine. It wasn't hard enough for her airbags to deploy. It's just crumple damage.
@ianthealy Headlight assemblies are expensive, hope the insurance covers all of it!
@ianthealy oh no I am so sorry to hear this sending you and yours my deepest sympathy
@ianthealy ๐ค my sympathies to you and your wife.
@ianthealy I am so sorry for you and your family. That's terrible, and coming at a terrible time, too.
@ianthealy I am sorry to hear this.
@ianthealy I am sure you are aware of the books by Dame Deborah James and Meghan Devine who also runs
www.RefugeinGrief.com.
There is also articles on #grief/ #griefsupport and #griefstricken which might help you navigate all that is yet to come.
I hope you get to make a few more happy memories with the In laws.
@ianthealy What a pile-on of hard things for your wife and you. Iโm sorry to hear about her parents - it must be tough to see one go and worry about the other - but am glad to know your daughter is ok.
@ianthealy ๐ it is true that we can actually die of a broken heart. Cancer took both my parents mom was lung that had gone to her bones dad had brain tumor in the70s when there was zero hope and it's the kind of pain and suffering that noone should have to go through. With my parents I'm just glad they don't have to see what's happening on this planet.
@ianthealy That's very sad, and hard for the family to go through. ๐ข
Hey @ianthealy, I know before Christmas you were sharing about your FIL and his cancer, how are things going?
@Mauve_matelot Oof. He died last February. Kind of blunt, but it is what it is. Are you off by a year?
@ianthealy sorry of any distress I caused eith my post.
It appears that I am adrift, i had mis read the date stamp on the top post of this thread and thought it was only weeks old rather than over a year.
Thanks for getting me back up to speed. Wishing you and the family all the best in 2024
@Mauve_matelot no worries. I'm mostly curious how it even turned up at all in your feed.
@ianthealy I was going through one of the grief hashtags, and came across your post.
@ianthealy
This is so hard. Sending hugs.
@realDDGlover Thanks. This post is more than a year old. Don't know why it surfaced now. He passed in February.
And my youngest daughter was just in a car accident. Minor, but still. This year is garbage.
