And Jon Stewart goes full metal racist. I’m not surprised.
Wyatt Cenac: “People seemed surprised Jon’s criticism was towards the media and not Hinchcliffe, who he called ‘very funny,’ excusing the comedian’s participation in a xenophobic rally as the fault of the organizers for booking a ‘roast comedian.’ Having worked for Jon, his response wasn’t really surprising. Disappointing but not surprising.”
Sad Stewart is to the right of many Republican politicians.

Hinchcliffe wasn't funny though. IT was just pure meanness for the sake of being mean. That's bullshit. I can see pushing things even further than he did and if it's funny, it's transcended into a deeper truth, but it was just bad. Stewart just wants to make sure comics don't get censored I think..
I agree. There was nothing there to defend.
Stewart’s argument is, “Hey, you can’t take a joke”—he is a prime example of why happens when you are part of the 0.05%, you lose all sense of common decency.
@TheAbbotTrithemius @feloneouscat hinchcliffe either does not notice that punching down is seldom funny, or nobody has actually sat him down and pummeled that fact into his head.
@feloneouscat it's what happens when people live in a bubble and have nobody who can tell them when they are talking bullshit.
@feloneouscat No surprise.
When Stewart tells you who he is, we should believe him.
This is who he is.
As you say, no surprise. It’s what being entitled does.
@feloneouscat Never cared for him.
I liked him during Bush Admin but when he did The Problem, my goddess, it was just simplistic drivel. His most embarrassing moment was attempting to play “gotcha” with a Biden cabinet appointment (forget who) who was puzzled at his questions.
It was just embarrassing.
But it defined, to me, he was not the smartest man at the writers table.
@feloneouscat He is as annoying as the Fox News Comedy Festival guy who shows up to harass the press secretary at the briefing.
@feloneouscat @Iveyjanette1 How any of us ever respected Stewart or Moore, I no longer understand.
@Ellico2020bis @feloneouscat I never respected them.
@feloneouscat he's Jewish. What the hell does he think the MAGAts ranting against "globalists" are talking about?
This is what power does to people: it makes them insensitive to others.
Jon Stewart and John Oliver made jokes at our expense. They didn’t speak truth to power, instead arguing that both sides are equal.
Now we have Oliver crying for people to fix his mistakes and Stewart coming to the defense of a racist.
Wow, this is so fucked up.
