Yes, and my GOP friend is highly intelligent and very well educated. I guess he is in the GOP Fox News bubble 🤷🏼♀️
@evamarie I had to unfriend someone on farcebook over the same, gushy garbage a couple of nights ago.
It’s sad. I have a strict “we don’t discuss politics” policy with my friend (we’ve been friends since college), and he keeps bringing it up. I shut it down fast by pointing out that the guy has gone full blown MAGA, but still. You want to be my friend? Do not talk politics if you’re GOP.
@evamarie I feel like I’m watching maga types who have a conscience work harder and harder to convince themselves that everything they’re seeing/hearing is still somehow OK. Many are still managing to do it, obviously. Then, there are those who I don’t think really have a conscience at all.
Here’s an interesting article on cognitive dissonance-why it’s easier to believe a lie rather than the truth. I think a lot of GOPers with a conscience fall into this category, not seeing the violence (January 6th) and fascism before their eyes.

@evamarie 👍 thx
@evamarie just using this vp pick to go all in on Maga
Yup. 👍
@evamarie it's sad
Even when he was anti-Trump, Vance was still a homophobic misogynist.
@evamarie what's in the water these folks are drinking? Insane.
