So, one of my GOP friends who claims not to like tRump texted me last night waxing poetic about JD Vance, as though he was still a moderate Republican and not a full blown MAGA apologist.
@evamarie I had to unfriend someone on farcebook over the same, gushy garbage a couple of nights ago.
It’s sad. I have a strict “we don’t discuss politics” policy with my friend (we’ve been friends since college), and he keeps bringing it up. I shut it down fast by pointing out that the guy has gone full blown MAGA, but still. You want to be my friend? Do not talk politics if you’re GOP.
Here’s an interesting article on cognitive dissonance-why it’s easier to believe a lie rather than the truth. I think a lot of GOPers with a conscience fall into this category, not seeing the violence (January 6th) and fascism before their eyes.
