what's inconsistent about those views? "any country would respond this way. it's shitty and shouldn't happen, but that's how people are." I don't want anyone to be at war but I know that this is just how countries react - not with restraint, contemplation, self-reflection but with knee-jerk over the top violence.
also I call bullshit that a cease-fire equals "defeat" for Israel. we can't allow anyone to define victory by genocide.
@dietotaku
Israelis are being attacked daily, and have been since prior to October 7, by groups whose stated goal is to eradicate Israel.
I don't care how much someone dislikes the Israeli government, Israel has the right to exist and the right to defend itself.
And I'm liberal.
I think some ideological groups have been exposed to so much propaganda that they think murdering people, calling for their death, and keeping them hostage means the murderers are the *real* victims. Nonsense.
no shit, most Americans aren't very liberal. the difference between where we disagree with the majority and where Republicans disagree with the majority is our views don't COST HUMAN LIVES.
also that's some bullshit framing that positions "most Americans" as not Democrats.
