and across the street, my neighbour's kid is setting up drums‼️and other instruments for their annual porch concert that no one can avoid hearing.

Some junior high kids in a local neighborhood did this for years. Horrible. They went on to be part of a highly successful jazz group in high school. One of them is now in the Marine band.
Don't discourage the musical ambitions of kids. At least you know where they are and what they're doing if you can hear them.
they're actually pretty good this year. they've got a fiddler and are playing some cool tunes. a new genre for them👍🏼

yeah, i don't comment. it's just that they're right across from my bedroom window and sometimes they go way late, which doesn't amuse me at all.
