Repost:
Mini rant.
The next time someone try's to call me out for not being "political" or "radical " enough...
Listen up buckaroos, my older sister was a freedom rider, and later, she I and a few other folks opened Anarchy books in Chicago.
All my siblings worked hard with the women of the Panthers to feed kids.
And I have been "resisting" since before many of you were born.
Just being loud is not enough. Being angry might help, but only in the short term.

@corlin
Yep.
I get really tired of the Do Somethings who really do nothing except yell.
@corlin
What do I do?
I concentrate my efforts on making sure that people have food, because it's what I can do at this point in my life with my disability.
I can't volunteer at a food bank on site.
I can't work a soup kitchen.
But I can make sure that people have food. Cash donations. Goods donations.
I don't bleat about it. I just do it.

This is the way.
Start small, in whatever way you can. Act locally. Don’t be afraid to fail. Learn from mistakes. No need to ask permission.
When I think back, in my life, to the people that made a difference. It is mostly the quite ones. The people that do things. The librarian made sure I had a safe place to read. The delicatessen owner, who gave me sandwiches when I was hungry. The detox nurse who did not shy away from my body kicking heroin. The neighbors who check up on me if they haven't seen me for 24 hours..
We Be The Humans.

My mom.
People just do it.
No photo ops.
No hollering.
Just - help.
