I haven't said this publicly yet, so it is time... this is such a great space. Thank you, of course, to @th3j35t3r for creating and sharing this experience, and for all of the most-excellent decisions that have made CoSo what it is today... but also thanks to you, kind reader, for being who you are. My interactions have been overwhelmingly positive, and I've found many interesting and intelligent new friends.

Positivity and intelligence seem in short supply these days, but here there is wealth.

I am now (1-3pm MT) presenting my weekly jazz program.

To continue my most recent post, here is another portion of Bonhoeffer's "Letters and Papers from Prison" that rings true.

"Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous."

From the writings of a personal hero.

I have to go back and read his "Letters and Papers from Prison" (among other writings) every now and then to remain properly tuned.

This portion helped me this morning. Maybe it will help someone else make sense of what we've been experiencing.

This is what it looked like in my neighborhood sometime around the summer of '73 .

This photo would have been taken just before we all got bored and decided to play lawn-dart dare, girls vs. boys edition.

For my friends who dig music, trivia and especially musical-trivia:

Here is another selection from Chamæleon Church, called "Spring This Year"

By framing immigration as an invasion, and repeatedly lying about cities in the USA now being run by gangs and illegal immigrants, TNG is setting the stage for suspension of the writ of habeas corpus, as specified in Article I, section 9 of the constitution. This would effectively allow him (or those directed by him) to imprison people indefinitely without any judicial check.

What fresh hell, indeed.

Still waiting to see which high-visibility positions are awarded to Mike Lindell and Roger Stone.

@codeWhisperer Such a valuable resource. I suspect we will regret our dependence on digital archives.

Sleep Token- Gods

I see the gods avert their gaze from me
My fucking form is but a wreck beneath them
And there are always people I can count on
It's all so easy for me

No more taking chances
No more teeth to bite with
No more smiling faces
I am alone again

And of course, if we're talking about something called a "prison camp" that is likely a whole different scenario than a standard (current) US prison.

As an example, I would be surprised if the Japanese detention camps (1942-1945) had a prisoner-to-officer ratio anywhere near as low as described above.

The average ratio of prisoners to guards in US prisons is 3.09 prisoners for every 1 corrections officer, but can range much higher than that in certain states (as high as 5.87 prisoners for every 1 officer in Oklahoma) and certain prisons (over 15 prisoners for each officer in FCP Bryan)

Crikey.

It was merely a thought experiment about the dangers of unstable, power-hungry wack-a-doos who also happen to be kajillionaires.

Although I do think that the potential is high for a "see something say something" type of citizen program in our near future.
