Our neighborhood has been hosting “driveway parties” for the past few years, get-togethers where we can mingle with folks we know or haven’t met. I haven’t attended any, because (a) I know as many people as I care to know; (b) I’m an introvert; and (c) they became superspreader events during the pandemic. None of my Democratic neighbors have hosted one. MAGA neighbors host most. A friend spotted a “Let’s Go, Brandon!” banner at one party and left immediately. Why the #Politics divide, I wonder.
@janallmac It’s not a bad idea, especially for new folks. I’ve lived here for ten years and know most of the people on the street, including all the dog owners.
@cassandra17lina
😂 I literally remember the dog's names better than the people's names, and half the time, I'm like, you know, whatshisname with the adorable Boston Terrier named Bubba.
@janallmac That’s so true!
i do too. it's weird. even if the dog's name is George, i still don't remember the person's name. obviously i prefer dogs in most cases😏
America 2023. I would have left too. And I’m an extrovert.
@cassandra17lina I am part of my neighborhood social committee and it is so frigging hard to bring people together. It is an effort and a half.
I like the idea of driveway parties, minus the political B.S.
