So I bought the Humble Godot Game Engine 4.0 Course Bundle the other day for $30. Zenva Academy charges $1500. Just finished the Intro course (61 lessons) and got my Certificate for it. Only 29 to go 😆 $1 a course is feeling like a pretty good deal. Link below for anyone interested. Now I just need to figure out how to make the next Vampire Survivors 🤣

A pretty twin stick shoot/puzz/platformer. Play as a ghost in the afterlife, searching for your past and trying to ascend.

This is a cool take on a twin stick. You can possess things and solve environmental puzzles, or possess demons and use their abilities to battle/explore. Neat "hand drawn" art style. Great music. I hadn't heard of it before it hit GP, very glad I played it. Do recommend. 👍 👍 hauntii.com/

Figment (XPd on via ) Dusty, embodiment of Courage in the mind of a man in a coma, must vanquish fears and wake up the mind.

Short (6 hours) puzzle platformer with surprising wit and humor as it deals with mental trauma. Nothing special in the gameplay dept, but it stands out in the atmosphere. Lots of bright colors. Bosses that taunt you with musical numbers. Bad puns. Fart clouds. It was a nice bit of silly that helped my own mental state a little 👍

"When I read great literature, great drama, speeches, or sermons, I feel that the human mind has not achieved anything greater than the ability to share feelings and thoughts through language."

RIP, James Earl Jones.

Used to Mod in a turntable.fm room known as ACTH (Ambient, Chillout, and Trip Hop) back in the day (2011/12). Was fun finding and sharing music with people. Got a hankering for it again yesterday and decided to make a mix of stuff from my digital archives. Might do more, iunno. mixcloud.com/blackknight958576

I bought 3 PS4s the last month or so. All broken off eBay. One had a bad HDMI. Messed up fixing it. One was a BLOD. Got a 3rd today, bad disc drive. Spent the day cleaning it/fixing the drive. Just needed the rollers cleaned. My neighbor's had a rough patch. Xbone quit a few months ago. His wife died 2 weeks ago. I just finished giving him the PS4 + 3 games. He was quite happy to be able to play again. Didn't ask him for anything. .. he did kick me a joint tho.

His kid being named Kick is the least WTF thing in this paragraph.

Gamers Nexus - Scumbag Intel: Shady Practices, Terrible Responses, & Failure to Act

Holy shit. I decided to go AM5 with my new PC this year and now I'm really glad I did. Intel getting taken to the woodshed here.

Hurt your brain in a good way, deciphering languages and solving puzzles in a mythical tower full of divided peoples that need someone to unite them.

I very much enjoyed this game, but then I've always liked semantics. Pretty setting, excellent music. Figuring out each language's words was done well. Playing translator between 2 languages was brain hurty in the best way. 👍 👍

I've been enjoying Chants of Sennaar quite a bit the last couple days. I've always had a thing for semantics despite not actually learning another language beyond knowing how to curse in it.

Royksopp - Poor Leno

It hurts me more than little bit that this LP is coming up on 25 years old.

The shitty part about it being 112°F outside is it's currently 89°F inside this fucking RV. And that's an excellent temperature delta for these things. Only achieved because I turned on the AC this morning and got it down to 72° before 9 am.

I posted too soon, lol. Didn't work out at the first place with 2 dogs, as I more than half expected. So I will be walking Archie again tomorrow morning. Not sure when they're going to try the other place with only one dog. Don't know if that's gonna work out better. Archie been a solo pup since weaning so it's gonna take some time to intro him into a sitch with another full time dog around. Guess we'll see.

It seems this morning was my final walk with John's dog. His ex came by a bit ago to collect him. A couple of John's friends have offered to take the dog. Both situations sound nice. Option one is a place with some land and two new dog friends. If that doesn't work option 2 is a place with at least more space than an RV lot and 1 new dog friend. John spoiled the crap outta his dog lol, but the last 2 months I spent training him best I could, so I hope it works out for him. Good luck, Archie.

Found out this morning that the neighbor we called 911 for almost 2 months ago has passed. Too many infections, pneumonia because his body couldn't clear the fluid from his lungs, organ issues etc. Early 60s, bit too soon and closer to my age than I wanna think about. Lesson here: don't ignore your body when it's telling you something is wrong. He'd been complaining for months about stuff, and then went 4 days with flu-like symptoms before we got him into the ER. RIP John.

Everything political sucks (especially SCOTUS) and the world is on fire (103°f today, 1st of at least 10 straight over 100° days in the forecast) so here's a couple pics of mah boy Beans enjoying a tummy rub. Slept my PCs and turned down the brightness on the security cam display, reduce heat production in the RV as much as possible. Hooray for the Steam Deck and Chiaki4Deck so I can remote play After Us on my PS5 (which vents outside cause I'm smart).

11-11: Memories Retold (Multi, XPd on PS5) A narrative adventure game starring Elijah Wood as Harry and Sebastian Koch as Kurt, 2 men on opposite sides in WW1.
The art style being based on the paintings of the Impressionist Period is quite beautiful, despite the subject matter. Branching story, multiple endings, great acting, collectibles, you get to play as a cat.. what more do you need? I actually want to see other endings, that's rare. 👍 👍

Röki (Multi, XPd on PS5) As Tove, explore a fairy tale forest and rescue your brother from Jötunravn and her son Röki.

This game looks cute. It can be, but most of the time it isn't, lol. It's a solid point and click (even with a controller) with some heavy themes such as kidnapping and death. There is no combat, tho. Typical P&C puzzle solving. There is some cool mechanics near the end I quite enjoyed. Def worth a look if you like P&Cs. 👍 👍
