Me discovering that paint is falling off the hood of my car mere months after having another area of the vehicle repainted due to that very same issue.
@VictoriaLandis1 Unfortunately, it's General Motors, and their customer service is abysmal at every level. Even though this is an established issue with this vehicle, they utterly refuse to acknowledge it or take any responsibility.
Oh. Sorry. That is a bummer.
@VictoriaLandis1 Thanks. It's a valuable learning experience. I will never own another General Motors vehicle.
@TheCard Great body work is an artform. Most of the people good at it are not at the dealers if that's where you went. Preparation is key.
@MidnightRider True. The problem is, this vehicle (and others like it) came out of the factory with defective paint jobs, and General Motors utterly refuses to take any responsibility.
@TheCard Unless it's a problem that can cause a raised eyebrow from the NHTSA they sit on it. It sounds like a factory priming anomaly. It sucks that they are not standing up, sorry for your troubles.
@TheCard Mine started around the windows and then, bam one day out of the blue it was the hood. it is a 2006 but I feel ya just the same....
@foxtrax1 I'm sorry to hear! It truly sucks. I regret not getting rid of this car after the first time it happened.
@TheCard I've resigned myself to having to have the whole thing repainted to even get rid of it, but with the price of new these days we'll just keep going 🙂
@TheCard
If it's a Toyota, contact them. They recently did a recall/fix for peeling/chipping paint.
Repainted my whole car for free.
